The project aims to bridge the social & economic gap in-between the haves and the have-nots through provision of access of world class genetics for the up-gradation of the dairy animals of the 35 million poor dairy farmers of Pakistan on a sustainable basis.

This was the leadership position of Consumer Business of Askari Commercial Bank & reported to the President & Group Chief Executive Officer of the bank.
Union Bank Pakistan Limited (October 2004 to November 2006)
Group Head / Director Consumer Assets Business
This was the leadership position of Consumer Assets Business of Union Bank & reported to the President & Group Chief Executive Officer of the bank. By virtue of holding this position, I was on the Management Committee of the Bank.
My team & I had full profit & loss and balance sheet responsibility for the Consumer Assets Business for the bank and managed a portfolio of around US$ 325 million placed with over 264, 000 asset customers of the bank. The business was expanding at a rate of around 4% per month. Asset business contributed over 1/3rd of the bank's total profitability.

Through a team of functional heads & business managers, I lead a team of around 1, 800 people
Prior to being promoted, I was Business Manager American Express Credit Cards & Merchant Acquiring. This business employed 500 people across the country and was growing at a rate of over 5% per month. My team & I had full profit & loss and balance sheet responsibility. The business contributed approximately 14% of the total profitability of Union Bank.
Business Operations Manager - Karachi Plant (August 2003 to September 2004), for Coca-Cola Beverages Pakistan Limited (a Company owned bottling facility)
With annual sales of around US$ 17 million, the plant employs a total of around 990 people including 290 management employees, 350 unionized permanent workers and 350 contract workers. Plant's franchise territory includes south Pakistan and is serviced through a network of 34 distributors, 15 wholesalers and 75 company owned direct distribution trucks.
This was a general management position and responsibilities included management of all functions including procurement, production, sales, logistics, finance, business development, human resources and strategic planning through a team of functional heads.
Working with & through my team, I was accountable for conformance to P&L, production, quality, sales, in-trade investments and share of market targets.
Country Operations Manager - Pakistan (Oct 2001 to July 2003), for The Coca-Cola Export Corporation. In this role I was leading the sales & distribution operations on a nation-wide basis. The total turnover of the system was approximately US$ 120 million.
In this role I had direct responsibility for managing the sales functions of 2 independent franchisee owned plants and supporting the sales teams of 7 Company owned plants. Scope of the job included preparation of national strategic plans and overseeing implementation thereof besides management of sales, trade marketing, execution of trade & consumer promotions (national & regional) and conformance to distribution, availability & share of market targets.
Responsibilities also included management of over 650 distributors (third parties), a fleet of over 2, 000 vehicles and a sales & distribution organization in excess of a 2, 250 people servicing more than 100, 000 outlets through out Pakistan.
Franchise Manager Pakistan (Jan 2001 to Sept 2001), for The Coca-Cola Export Corporation. In this role I was responsible for operations in North Pakistan.
I had direct responsibility for managing 2 independent franchisee owned plants. Scope of the job included trade marketing, initiation and execution of trade & consumer promotions, management and conformance to sales, distribution, availability, production, & share of market targets.
Responsibilities also included management of over 110 distributors (third parties), a fleet of over 75 vehicles and a production, sales & distribution organization in excess of a 450 people servicing more than 10, 000 outlets through out North Pakistan.
District Operations Manager (Feb 2000 to Dec 2000)
I had responsibility for managing three bottling facilities out of which one was company owned and the other two were owned by an independent franchisee bottler. Scope of the job included trade marketing, initiation and execution of trade & consumer promotions.
S. B. E. (Private) Ltd. (May 1998 To Jan 2000)
As Director Operations, I managed family business of distribution of Unilever Pakistan products in Lahore, Pakistan. Job required extensive business operations decisions, since there were about 135 SKUs (i.e. Lipton tea, soaps & detergents, personal products and edible oil \[i.e. Dalda & Planta\]) to handle besides a team of about 65 people & an annual sales turnover of approximately USD 8 million. In the process of managing the family business, have gained line experience in sales force management, trade marketing, trade (wholesale & retail) handling, warehousing, logistics, fleet management, financial & cash flow management and promotions management (trade & consumer) besides conformance to profitability & budgetary targets.
Regional Manager - Central & Eastern Saudi Arabia (October 1997 to April 1998) for British American Tobacco (BATCo), based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This area contributes 49% (approximately USD 85 million) of the total business of BATCo in Saudi Arabia & the main brands that BATCo markets in Saudi Arabia are; John Players Gold Leaf, Carlton, Benson & Hedges, Kent, Viceroy, Silk Cut, Barclay, Wills Gold Flake & State Express 555.
Responsibilities included management of a BATCo team comprising 2 Area Managers & 8 Trade Marketing Representatives besides management of sales teams of 2 third party distributors (approximately 40 personnel) . Working with & through my team, I ensured conformance to sales, distribution, in-trade investments, trade promotions, trade marketing, profitability, share of market & customer satisfaction survey targets in the Central & Eastern Saudi Arabia - overall, by channel & by key accounts.
Regional Manager - Western Saudi Arabia (from Sept. 1995 to September 1997), based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This area contributes 51 % (approximately USD 90 million) of the total business of BATCo in Saudi Arabia. Besides managing a BATCo team comprising 2 Area Managers & 8 Trade Marketing Representatives, I also managed sales & distribution organizations (approximately 75 people) of our 2 distributors spread over 9 branches in the Western Region. My responsibilities also included stock ordering from our 4 production facilities in the US, UK, Ireland & Singapore & subsequent distribution amongst the 15 branches of our distributors through out Saudi Arabia (supply chain management) . Working with & through my team, I ensured conformance to sales, distribution, investments, trade promotions, trade marketing, profitability, share of market & customer satisfaction survey targets in the Western Region - overall, by channel & by key accounts.
Pepsi Cola International - Pakistan & Bangladesh (July 1993 to June 1995)
Managed Pepsi Cola International operations in Bangladesh as Franchise Manager Bangladesh based in Dhaka, Bangladesh for the period June 1994 to June 1995.
During this period, had direct responsibility for marketing - including brand management, marketing research, trade & consumer promotions, strategic planning, sales, distribution, production, profitability & share of market targets. Responsibilities were for Pepsi bottler's 4 bottling facilities, 240 distributors, a fleet of over 400 vehicles and a production, sales & distribution organization in excess of a 1, 000 people servicing more than 36, 000 outlets through out Bangladesh.
From July 1992 to May 1993 worked in Pepsi Cola International's Pakistan office as Human Resource Executive. During this period, managed payroll, training, recruitment, & appraisals for Pepsi Cola International's staff in West Asia Area (i.e. Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka & Bangladesh)
