I started this job as a Guest Services Coordinator in March 2020 and then got a promotion in November 2020 to Deputy Manager. Started this position in the planning phase and then moved to operations. Planning included writing policies, procedures, and operational plans. Additionally, to that managed the procurement of items, logistics of moving and shipping them to the Expo site, interviewing, recruiting and training my team which consist of 7 different roles. In operations, I oversaw the day to day operations of my team and made sure to enrich guests’ experience. We provided different services in our 4 information desks such as information, mobility equipment rental, lost and found items, missing person and visitor feedback management.
I managed a number of projects independently and also worked in small teams. I regularly dealt with vendors from various cultural background and communicated on a daily basis - in English and/or Arabic - via the telephone, email and face-to-face. I also acquired data entry and database management skills. In addition, I did some translation work of contacts, university policies and other different documents.
