 Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path

 Design and build databases to store information for an organization.
 Performs data modeling, normalization and vendor interface.
 Maintain and document all production database and interface systems.
 Resolves database performance problems.
 Provides database support services for critical computer applications.
 Maintain archived data on appropriate storage devices.
 Performs Database performance monitoring and tuning.
 Control and monitor user access to the database
 Specify users and user access levels for each segment of database.
 Review procedures in database management system manual for making necessary changes.
 Ensure that database information is fully available and that the risk of the database failing is minimized
 Plan co-ordinate and implement security measures to safeguard information in computer files against any accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure.
 Monitor the growth of the database, and plan its capacity
 Ensure the accuracy of the data
 Manage the security of the data
 Plan for recovery of databases after failures.
SYSTEM ANALYST
 Make site survey, Feasibility study and collect user requirements
 Consult with management and staff on how work is done in their organization.
 Analyze business application requirements.
 Work out the new system's requirements and specifications
 Decide if new software applications or computers are required.
 Make detailed cost estimates of different system options
 Submit the plans for approval
 Co-ordinate with vendor team for analysis, customization and implementation of any third party software.
 Ability to choose the appropriate technology for the requirement.
 Oversee the system's development, including design, choice of computers (hardware) and computer programs (software)
 Test the new system with a variety of people and fine-tune the system if necessary
 Train the users of the new system
 Put the system into place
 Evaluate and submit recommendations to IT manager about various products.
 Report back to the management department of the organization.
