Joined the massive BSS Transformation team of approximately 300+ personnel as Technical Project Manager @ STC on its ambitious and challenging 2-year transformation program that involved retiring a central system that managed the land line and data services from customer management, billing and inventory elements for over 2 decades. This program was a result of delivering the strategic objective of STC to provide customer centric view of all products and services. Some of my responsibilities included
1. Re-engineering the Change Management process establishing controls within the process and operationalize it, whose primary objective was to ensure that BSS Transformation scope is reviewed and updated at the agreed intervals with business and BSS transformation delivers as per the expectations of the business.
2. Lead and manage ICT projects and supporting specialist Project Teams, including operations, work programming, performance and change management.
3. Work with vendors (TCS/WIPRO/Oracle/Ericsson/Cognizant) on various stages of the project delivery that ensures vendors deliver as per the agreed standards and scope of the program.
4. Work extensively with key stakeholders on defining and enhancing the reporting process which ensure various levels of management are timely informed on the developments and deviations on the program delivery.
5. In addition to this primary role, I have provided extensive support to peers on focused areas (ORT/ Launch Checklists/ Performance Testing, Pre-cutover activities) of one of the extensive SDLC process that governs this transformation project.
a. This position requires to focus on the major pain areas which have a negetive impact on the revenue, look in to the existing challenges, draft a recovery plan which includes updates to the existing policies / procedures if any, re-engineering business processes, application of change management skills to have the buy in from all the stakeholders and finally champion the implementation and application of re-defined processes.
b. Some of the deliverables in this regards are
i. Partial invoicing mechanism
ii. Aligning B2B order provisioning.
iii. Ticket Management for B2B customers.
iv. Network Downtime management.
a. This position had the challenge to introduce a platform to the B2B sales team. From a position of Sharepoint being the sole platform for all B2B sales to Microsoft CRM 2011 being deployed to cater the needs and assist in deploying sales hygiene, I played a vital role. From definition of processes to procedures to technical implementation / cutomization of CRM 2011 which changes the nature of the game for B2B and GO.
b. Redefined my position in this company as a person who can make things happen against odds.
As business analyst I made sure that documents were well captured and communicated in a way to minimize customizations on the IT side that reduced the SDLC cycle and enhance the time to market the product / service / offering.
b. Sketching documents ranging from CR (Change requests) to full fledged BRS (Business Requirements Specification) documents introducting new products to the market
c. Sound knowledge on the eTOM and SDLC concepts.
a. Ensuring the assigned responsibilities were delivered in the right shape during my role in the UAT / FUT and BSIM Manager.
b. Breaking down the agreed methodology of CPMO into policies and moving further into processes and procedures.
c. Providing supporting tools for the CPMO to ensure compliance to the agreed processes and procedures.
Worked as Project Manager @ IT department in Mobily enabled me to exercise my skills in both SDLC and business related projects. Some of my responsibilities included
Work closely with customer management to understand the business requirement for the project, developing effective working relationships and ongoing management processes for the project.
Identify the stakeholders, key success indicators for managing the projects.
Define the deliverables, resource requirements and work plan for the project, and manage their development and delivery.
To estimate and plan projects from start to finish, with built in contingencies.
Manage trade-offs between scope, quality, time and cost
Facilitate project risk reviews and appropriate mitigation
Deliver to time and cost with agreed tolerances
• balancing the needs of project, client, and Mobily
Prepare short term plans or stage plans as the project progresses
Ensure timely activity, integration and productivity of technical support
• And administer efficient use of resources to meet requirements
• With clear identification of task completion
Was the man in-charge for all IT related initiates and projects across the group of companies. this experience developed me in various dimensions and provided me an opportunity to work with world class consultants from KPMG, EY and Satyam computers for projects ranging from IT to business processes and its implementations.
