Appointed to represent City and Guilds and the Institute of Leadership and Management in all areas of concern for Cyprus and Malta. Leading the Business Development for the region and supporting BD as required for the Middle East region as required.
Appointed into the position of COO with the challenge of turning around and driving forward three
existing failing Vocational Colleges with a substantial first year reported loss, successfully reported a
significant second-year profit. Increased the business capacity to five colleges, together with winning
projects for the Ministry of Health to deliver English language and technical vocational training to
medical employees. Built the business to successfully deliver vocational education to some 8, 000
Saudi Nationals across 7 colleges, both Male and Female, with a significantly increased annual
operating turnover, realising a healthy profit margin. Directly responsible for management of a number
of high value contracts and the creation and support of the management team consisting of seven
Principals and a Corporate team of five Directors and a staffing base of circa 750 staff. Leading on the
strategic direction of the business, implementing new teams of personnel to deliver contracts in key
areas of the education business and supporting all areas of the operational support areas covering
HR, FM, QA, Business Development, Mobilisation and Finance. Regular dealing with both
Government and NGO organisations as well as regulatory bodies and authorities to ensure smooth
management of the contracts inline with key stakeholder requirements.
Academic Affairs and Institutional Planning, Laureate Vocational Saudi
Arabia (LVSA)
Initially appointed into the position of Executive Director of Training at the Higher Institute of Water
and Power Technologies (HIWPT), to give strategic leadership to two other vocational Institutes
located within Saudi Arabia which were operated by LVSA in conjunction with clients from the private
sector. Repositioned within LVSA to the role of Managing Director Academics and Institutional
Planning, taking an active role in the bid process for a number of new vocational institutes that were
recently under consideration by the newly formed Government entity known as the Colleges of
Excellence (COE) in Saudi Arabia, with a view to leading a further number of new entities. Awarded a
significant number of new Colleges by COE under both Wave 1and 2, raising the number of Colleges
of responsibility from two to eleven over a two year contracted period. Recruited, developed and led
a team of Executive Directors and Directors who were responsible for operating the Colleges.
Implementing the strategic aims of LVSA in line with the Colleges of Excellence mission and vison,
utilising international best practices.
