I have been teaching and researching at Bayero University, Kano since 2004 to date. I have taught and superived students at undergraduate and post graduate level. I have also held a number of administrative responsibilities such at students advisor/Level Coordinator, examination officer, research secretary of the Post graduate board of my faculty, member of a number of departmental and faculty where I represented my faculty on the University Committees
My PhD research focus on the socio-economic history of the railway in some rural communities along the rail line from Kano and Zaria in Northern Nigeria, from 1908-1970s. In this work i looked at the multiple ways the rural dwellers reacted to the new railway transport innovation and how the people appropriated it to better their live.
I was the best student in my class. I graduated with CGPA of 3. 80. My M. A. research is a comparative study on the impact of railway on Madobi and Kwankwaso Villages in Kano Emirate, from 1903-1967.
