As a class based teacher I have successfully worked in accordance with the school’s curriculum statement and policies. Maintained a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning. Selected and utilized effective instructional methods and learning materials. Established a cooperative relationship with all students and staff. Maintained open lines of communication with parents and guardians. Using differentiated learning within the class setting. Creating and implementing lesson plans. Attended training insets, departmental meetings to enhance professional development and progress.
Planned for and guided the learning process to help students achieve curriculum objectives. Designed, developed and created all class room teaching aids and resources including all worksheets, visual aids, assessments and reports. Maintained a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning. Selected and utilized effective instructional methods and learning materials. Established a cooperative relationship with all students. Maintained open lines of communication with parents and guardians. Gained a good understanding of how to adapt the curriculum plan for children with special needs and the importance of knowing how to deal with disruptive behavior to create an effective working environment. Ensured all school policies and procedures were respected at all times.
Areas of responsibility included curriculum and material development, testing & assessment, academic development and other duties that supported the development of the Year 1 program. Established and maintained discipline in the class by implementing reward schemes and mentoring projects. Having fun in the classroom whilst teaching. Identified and improved the provision for students with special needs. Compiled classroom displays and delivered these for extended reading, writing and science weeks.
