Reporting to CFO & CEO of the organization
About the Organization: DIC Pakistan Limited is a joint venture of DIC Corporation, Japan and Packages Limited, Pakistan. Extensive reporting is required for local & foreign JV partners.
My main duties as finance controller include;
• Supervision of finance department, creating environment for team work & development of good working conditions in my domain.
• Training & coaching new recruits and existing employees about operations in SAP & development of succession planning.
• Analysis of current systems & practices in company to suggest improvements of system, devising and improving policies and current procedures.
• Ensuring compliance with corporate law, taxation laws and code of corporate governance & continuous monitoring of changes in these laws.
• Responsible for chart of accounts (COA) & master data maintenance under Financial Accounting in SAP.
• Consolidating annual budgets and half yearly projections of the company
• Analysis of management reports and rolling forecast to enable management take corrective actions in advance to fill the gaps against targets/budget defining abnormal costs.
• Liaison with internal and external auditors and implementation of various observations raised by them.
• Arranging meetings of BOD & Audit Committee and preparing minutes thereafter.
• Ensuring compliance with SECP (Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan).
• Oversight of payable & receivable cycle, implementation of rules of authorization/matrix within the organization to reduce risk of fraud in financial system.
Reporting to CFO of the organization
Main duties as a Chief Accountant include;
• Coordinating and monitoring all core business financial processes, payable management, bank reconciliations and Trade debts management.
• Supervision of accounts department & oversight of all departmental tasks.
• Lead role in implementation of SAP in the company including defining accounts department user requirements, testing developments, ensuring smooth parallel run and tweaking SAP operations after implementation.
• Preparing management and statutory accounts of the company with detailed information on abnormal trends and items and comparing actual with budget and previous periods.
• Ensuring accuracy, integrity and completeness of financial reporting.
• Coordinate with all departments for collecting data for preparing and compiling budget/forecast
• Liaising with auditors to ensure timely completion of audits to meet requirements and deadlines set by JV partners.
• Preparing and finalizing annual corporate tax return to ensure compliance with laws.
• Supervise controlling module ensuring proper and true standard cost are defined for each cost center/work center, reporting on abnormal variances between standard and actual costs and work activities, reviewing wastage include plant level wastage.
