• Support Board of Directors in the following areas:
o Sending out notices, providing agenda, and coordinating meetings.
o Facilitating discussion on important topics relevant to meetings.
o Keeping directors informed of decisions and changes.
o Participating in developing a vision and strategic plan to guide the association.
• Shares with the board development and implementation of work programs including:
o Shares in identifying the Association & community needs and design related work programs.
o Oversees work programs and providing necessary modifications.
o Supervises operations to ensure appropriate systems and resources are in place while facilitating day-to-day operations.
• Long range strategic planning including:
o Participates in preparing a comprehensive strategic plan and budget for each fiscal year.
o Formulates planned objectives and activities, including specific activities and methods of implementation and budget requirements.
o Compares actual accomplishments with the goals established; including the status of finances and expenditures and variances between planned and actual cost.
• Finance & Fundraising including:
o Participates in the optimum allocation of financial resources as per budgets authorized by the board of directors.
o Prepares the association annual budget for consideration by the board.
o Responsible for all expenditures within the framework of the budget.
o Prepares periodic and other financial reports as determined by the Board.
o Ensures that financial records of the Association are audited annually.
o Briefs the Board/Executive Committee about financial and administrative matters.
o Responsible for contractual commitments and signing contracts on behalf of the Association up to the overall monetary limits set by the Board/Executive committee.
o Ensures sound fundraising strategies are set and adequate funding for the operation of the association are secured.
o Maintenance of optimum level of membership including: Acting as the representative of the broad-based membership, with an objective management style free of personal subjectivity
• Office management and staff including:
o Ensures the association is management according to the most sound an up to date management techniques.
o Determines the optimum number of employees needed to efficiently carry out the work program.
o Monitors employee’s productivity.
o Leads staff and assumes responsibility for their performance of duty, create working conditions, which will be conducive to maximum performance, employee morale and loyalty.
• Communications activities including:
o Acts as the principal liaison with different stakeholders including but not limited to Egyptian and International government officials, local and foreign media, donor agencies and other private business organizations.
o Manages external relations and promotes technical cooperation with similar institutions in Egypt and overseas
o Acting as the primary spokesperson for the Association after the Chairperson, and provide support in preparation of statements in Association positions on Public issues.
