Responsibility of getting all imported and local goods into the Company in time and with the reduced costs by effective negotiation and planning the consolidation of cargo and renegotiating the freight costs.
Finalizing of various contracts like annual maintenance contracts, freight contracts etc.
Details of Commodities handled:
•Raw Materials - Silica Sand and other chemicals and ingredients used in Glass manufacturing.
•Capital Equipments & machinery - Machinery required glass manufacturing and equipments such as Compressors, Vacuum Pumps, Generators, Gear Drives, and Conveyors
•Spares / Consumables - Spares and consumables required for Glass Forming machine, Glass handling conveyors, Compressors, Vacuum Pumps, Glass Inspection machines
•Moulds and Mould Spares: Molds and mold spares required to produce the bottles.
Major Achievements:
•Cost Saving: Achieved 8 % cost reduction in spares part in the financial year 2004-05
•Vendor Development: Developed new vendors for various spares parts and other commodities to get the cost reduction as well as to get reduced the lead-time.
•Alternate Source Development - development alternate sources for molds and mold spares. Developed various freight forwarders for getting the shipments in the fasted possible time.
•Systems Development: Developed consolidated module for vendor rating and vendor evaluation.
•ISO 9000: Completed necessary documentation in ISO 9000 for the department
•Customs duty exemption: Developed system so that company could get maximum benefits of Customs duty exemption and reduced loss of money to a great extends.
