Vodafone India services Pvt ltd organization is basically performing support and handling Vodafone -Europe IP backbone network. Vodafone has outsourced its core IP network to VISPL; firstly this network was handled in Dusseldorf-NOC, Germany.

Network troubleshooting and maintenance for VF- Europe IP backbone network for enterprise customers and network elements.

Role: - Team Leader

• Responsible for transition planning and implementation for IP network of Vodafone -Europe.
• Analyze, trouble shoot, and repair internal customer issues escalated by the Vodafone through advanced knowledge of IP and related technologies.
• Trouble shoot network issue related to hardware and routing protocols in VF IP backbone network.
• Troubleshooting problems related to IPSec tunnels, BGP, ISIS, OSPF and network element configuration.
• Resolve outage situations through analytical troubleshooting skills on the IP network or at the edge points with providers
• Provide training to internal NOC team members, and provisioning related to new or existing technologies as implemented or changed within the network
• Participate in an on call scenario on a rotational basis within the IP Operations Engineer group

• IMAC (Install, Move, Add and Change) - A Routing activity which has a low business impact and risk, the work may include port speed & duplex changes, VLAN changes, providing cable/handset etc.
• Simple Request - Another activity with minor business impact, example being making changes to the Router/Switch/WLAN for one specific non-BPR site.
• Medium - An activity or request with major business impact, such as- moving a hub at a Data Centre site, configuration changes in existing Switches/Routers/Access Points.
• Complex - This activity holds very critical business impact; the work may consist of moving a hub at a data-centre site, Configuration changes in existing Switches/Routers/Access Points.
• Responsible for any type of network changes in AT&T and IBM data canter.
• Responsible for designing a LAN network if requested by IBM.
• Responsible to provide details solution design and cost case to IBM and ATT against their requirement and take follow-up till the implementation done.

As a DATA NOC Engg. -- I am accountable for operational effectiveness of Access Data Networks & handling data traffic, monitor protocols and hardware related alarms of switches and routers of Data network.
Designation: NOC Engineer.
Duration: From January- 2008 to April 2010.

Responsibilities:

• Configuration and Maintaining of Cisco Routers (7609) and Cisco Switches (3550, 3750, 3400) and Huawei routers (CX600) and switch (CX200) and Atrica (A2100, A8100) devices.
• All over India technical support for resolution of critical/major faults & escalated faults from various groups like ITMC and Enterprise NOC, IDC.
• Monitoring & remote troubleshooting of the Data Network (around 35, 000 devices) of Reliance Communication all over India and all the mentioned services hosted on the network.
• Handling of all customer services Like L3VPN, L2VLL related faults & find out the reason of problem and trouble shoot that problem.
• Providing 2nd and 3rd level of support for network elements like troubleshooting various customer faults like packet loss, latency and throughput issues.
• IOS up gradation to new software releases of Cisco and Huawei Routers and Switches. Raising TAC cases to vendor (Cisco) for resolution of escalated network faults and bug fixing.
• Responsible for plan-event like Integration and migration of services of MEN network element.
• Acceptance Test (AT) of newly integrated Cisco, Huawei and Atrica devices.
• Inform field data engineer about the fault and provide the analysis, procedure to isolate and/or resolve the fault & co-ordinate for this activity.
• Raising TAC cases to vendor for raising RMA for faulty parts and co-ordinate for acquisition and shipping of the spares.
• Experience of configuring the services at wireless platform like Wi-max.
• To investigate fault/cause related to system/network problems.
• Coordinate with OSP and Transport NOC regarding fiber and Utility related issues & surveillance of the related OFC network, SDH network & devices.
• Responsible for Planning & configuration L3VPN, L2VLL, Direct Internet Access (DIA) & Broadband Internet Access (BIA) Services on Metro-E network.
