Being a software developer, I was exposed to various phases of software development, testing, its usage, support, maintenance and their future enhancements. Was often gifted with environments, where I could also enhance my skills in Consulting and Project Management. This in turn strengthened, my abilities to understand, develop and support various application/ programs even better and hence enhanced my career growth. Known for the abilities to assess and resolve complex issues with the strong analytical and problem solving skills, coupled with effective facilitation, communication and teaching/mentoring skills, performed jobs scheduling. Additionally, performed Impact Analysis of the changes done to the existing applications/softwares and its effects on the existing/new upcoming applications, and hence, provided the feedback. Alternatively, provided Query tuning suggestions to improve Application performance, and undertook performance tuning. Served as the data analyst/expert whilst implementing automation yet achieving reusability at almost all possible stages.
Gathered requirements, designed and developed database solution; which included database configuration, data modeling, and identification of trusted data sources, database creation, and ETL processes etc. Served as the data analyst/expert and created views for Cognos developers to complete reporting requirements. Developed and maintained ETL (Data Extraction, Transformation and Loading) mappings using Informatica Designer to extract the data from multiple source systems that comprise databases, flat files to the Staging area, ODS/EDW (Operational Data Store/Enterprise Data Warehouse) and then to the Data Marts whilst focusing on reusability, standardization, cleansing of the data and validation of the addresses. (Mappings were created using different look-ups like connected, unconnected and dynamic look-up with different caches such as persistent cache, whilst using reusable components like worklets, mapplets using other reusable transformation). Additionally, compatible views from ODS/EDW were also created, which were used to build reports from tool called QlikView. Subsequently, automation was achieved by undertaking multiple jobs scheduling, which was achieved through Redwood Cronacle. Created BTEQ, MLOAD and FLOAD scripts for loading and processing input data, whilst creating and executing macros using Teradata SQL Query Assistant (Queryman) and TOAD. Performed Impact Analysis of the changes done to the existing mappings and provided the feedback. Involved in performance tuning of targets, sources, mappings, and sessions. Hence, wrote complex SQL scripts to avoid Informatica Look-ups to improve the performance as the volume of the data was heavy. Created Logical and Physical database modeling of the warehouse, hence, responsible for database schemas creation based on the logical models; whilst created and monitored sessions using workflow manager and workflow monitor. Responsible for various phases of testing - integration, regression and user testing. Hence generation of various technical documents, including Business Requirements, Functional and Technical Specifications, Data Flow and Process diagrams using MS Visio tools. Managed team and cross teams knowledge sharing system whilst coordinated and documented projects lessons learnt; coupled with the abilities of prioritizing and handling multiple tasks in high-pressure environment.
