Oversee cost-saving efforts by reviewing operational data and leading projects to address resource waste and duplication to eliminate inefficiencies and achieve budget targets.
•
Coordinate team adherence to compliance, governance and health and safety procedures by guiding team members to follow established standards and minimise operational risk for a safe workplace.
•
Enforce corrective actions and report incidents or breaches in compliance, governance or health and safety to middle management to achieve timely resolution and continuous improvement.
•
Supervise the operation and maintenance of Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) power distribution systems (e.g., 33 kV, 11 kV, 3.3 kV, 525V, 400V, 220V) to deliver reliable and safe power supply to all factory sections and achieve uninterrupted production.
•
Inspect electrical machinery and tools regularly for wear and tear, reporting defects and coordinating repairs to prevent breakdowns and production delays for asset reliability.
•
Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance and repairs to support asset management and audit requirements for operational transparency.
•
Develop and maintain lists of strategic spares including supplier contact details to achieve availability and minimise downtime for continuous plant operation.
•

Execute maintenance and repair tasks in strict accordance with health, safety and environmental regulations to achieve a safe working environment and compliance with standards.

Conduct regular inspections of work areas and equipment to identify hazards, non-compliance or process deviations and take corrective action to achieve risk mitigation.

Install and wire motor control centres, domestic and industrial wiring and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) control circuits to achieve compliance with design and safety standards.
•
Install and terminate power cables up to and including 11, 000 volts to achieve reliable power distribution and plant operation.
•
Install and commission power generating and distribution equipment including energy measurement devices to achieve robust plant infrastructure.
•
Use complementary mechanical engineering skills such as drilling, cutting threads, welding and rigging during installation to achieve robust and safe setups.
•
Test installations using appropriate equipment to verify compliance with statutory and organisational standards for safe operation.
•
Monitor usage of spare parts, tools and consumables during maintenance activities to prevent wastage and achieve cost-effective operations.
•
Identify recurring equipment failures or inefficiencies by analysing maintenance data and recommend practical solutions to reduce costs and resource losses for improved cost management.
•
Report incidents of resource wastage, breakages or losses to the Foreman to drive corrective action and achieve continuous improvement in cost management.
•
Implement energy-saving and cost-reduction initiatives during daily tasks to contribute to overall plant cost efficiency and achieve resource optimisation.
•
Perform planned and unplanned maintenance on all plant electrical installations and equipment to achieve optimal operational performance and minimise downtime for uninterrupted production.
•
Diagnose faults and repair electrical systems including motors, starters, drives and power distribution to restore equipment functionality and maintain continuous operations.
•
Complete assigned work orders and tasks within specified timeframes to meet operational schedules and achieve production targets.
•
Record maintenance activities and repairs in the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to enable accurate tracking and achieve effective future planning.
•
Respond to breakdowns and emergencies on the production line to reduce disruption and maintain continuity of operations.
•
Plan and set priorities for allocated jobs to achieve efficient execution and alignment with production needs.

• Assist and Learn: Work directly under licensed technicians, following instructions to complete residential, commercial, or industrial electrical tasks.
• System Installation: Measure, cut, thread, and install conduit, pull wire, and mount electrical boxes or fixtures.
• Testing and Troubleshooting: Use specialized electronic testing equipment (e.g., multimeters) to trace short circuits, test continuity, and diagnose system faults.
• Equipment Maintenance: Clean, repair, and test electrical motors, switches, and control equipment.
• Site Compliance: Adhere strictly to safety protocols, electrical codes, and regulations while maintaining a clean, organized work environment.
• Administrative Support: Keep accurate work logs, manage equipment inventory, and assist with material ordering.

• System Maintenance: Perform routine preventative maintenance, cleaning, and diagnostic checks on UPS units, inverters, static switches, and batteries.
• Installation and Commissioning: Set up new UPS systems, configure monitoring software, and conduct initial start-up testing.
• Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose electrical issues, identify faulty components, and execute repairs or replacements to minimize system downtime.
• Battery Management: Test, inspect, and replace Valve Regulated Lead-Acid (VRLA) or lithium-ion battery banks.
• Emergency Response: Provide on-call or 24/7 support for critical power failures.
• Documentation: Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, parts usage, and system performance logs.
