Planning, rendering and evaluating nursing care.
Responsible in identifying the nursing needs of patients.
In charge for delivery of patient care through the use of the Nursing Process of Assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
Performing procedures like IV insertion and administering emergency medication to patients as ordered by the doctor
Explaining the action of the drug given as well as its adverse effect
Establishing good relationship to patient in order to gather all information needed.
Informing patient regarding the rules and regulations of the hospital.
Admitting and discharging patient.
Taking and recording vital signs.
Do patients’ round with medical personnel.
Performing nursing care for comfort and personal hygiene of patient.
Observing signs and symptoms, and instituting remedial measures needed, and referring to physician if necessary.
Recording in chart and reporting observation to physician.
Carrying out Doctor’s written criteria.
Assisting physician when examining patient.
Preparing patient, equipment and assisting physician with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Responsible in handling, operating and monitoring the hospital equipment and instituting nursing measures
Providing consent before doing any treatment or procedures to the patient or family
Assist in all medical and surgical procedure
Acting as liaison between patient and hospital personnel.
Interpreting to patient and his family about the rules in promoting successful therapy and rehabilitation.
Referring and consulting complaints to the attending physician regarding the patients’ disease entity.
Interpreting hospital policies and procedures.
Giving health teaching.
Performing irrigations, catheterizations and giving enemas and other treatments and recording them accurately.
Collecting samples such as blood, urine, stool and other laboratory specimen for investigation.
Endorsing all treatments and procedures done to the ward
Follow up cases for consultation and check-up.
Administering, charting medications and observing patient for any reactions to medicines taken.
Do monthly reports and inventories to the department.
Receiving and endorsing ward supplies, equipments and giving proper care of these equipments every shift
Clinical Supervision of the students in the area like surgery, medicine, critical care unit, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, psychiatry etc.
Many incidental teaching was given along with planned clinical
teaching schedule in many areas like surgery, medicine, critical care unit, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, psychiatry etc.
