• Monitor and control the train movements by manually setting the route in the depot and mainline by ERTMS/ETCS level 2 signalling system.
• Responsible for track possessions and movements of engineering trains within a possession.
• Direct supervision of qualified maintenance personnel/contractors and ensuring the team is performing to the required standard in compliance with the procedures and instructions.
• Report incidents or events that impact on safety and/or service performance to the Train Control supervisor immediately.
• Responsible for day to day train planning to make sure the KPI’s are not affected and trains reliability is 100% to the facility as per the customer request.
• Provide technical and professional review for the Operations Control Centre in all areas, e.g. train set efficiency, train performance, control instructions/rule book and real-time management of manpower resources within the Control Centre team.
• Ensure the safe and reliable movement of trains in both normal and degraded operations.
• Protecting the train and staff by blocking the line (route barring) in case of any emergency occurs and try to implement a safe system of work to continue the train operation through alternative routes.
• Liaise with the Track & Facilities management teams in matters related to possession management and maintenance windows.
• Extend assistance to Train Drivers in the intervention of train faults.
• Regularly update the Train control supervisor and Fleet team on the status/condition of the train service, occurrence of incidents/accidents, service interruptions, and other unusual defects/situation that disrupts the train operations.

Facilities (Engineering) Controller at Etihad Rail DB

• Managing Facilities, Engineering control, Fault control and Security management through SCADA, FCS, BMS, Security management system and by SAP system for Etihad Rail Train Operations.
• Control and monitor 33kV, 11kV, 400VAC, UPS, HVAC, ERTMS/ETCS Level 2 Freight Control System and other signalling/telecommunication systems through SCADA system.
• Currently been trained as a competent Train controller for managing and controlling the train movements, giving possessions for Sweeping the track, Line side system maintenance and Track maintenance.
• Facilitate power isolation and reformation of 33kV and 11kV based on failures and engineering activities.
• Highlight the repetitive faults and failures in the performance meeting so that the faults and failures rectification can be handled in a better way and mitigate the risk of delays for train and other operational activities.
• Planning and taking full responsibility for permit to work system and make sure the work is done safely based on the safe system of work. Give daily briefing, tool box talks before engineering hours to Infrastructure and Possession Assistants.
• Controlling and managing the access to railway line and buildings through PTW, Access control system and Security management system.
• Coordinating, arranging and controlling the maintenance team and contractors to conduct corrective, preventive maintenance and engineering activities for all the railway assets and equipment's.
• Record all the faults and failures of the railway assets in SAP system and send it across to the management and maintenance team for corrective actions.
• Created training material for the Facilities Controller SCADA operation related to 33kV/11kV switch gear, 400VAC Low Voltage, UPS, HVAC, Freight Control System and other Signalling and Telecommunication systems.
• Created Competence Management System documents and SAP based Asset Management System for the Facilities Controller.
• Associated with testing and commissioning of power, signalling, telecommunications systems and civil works of Etihad Rail Project.
