Responsible for the smooth operation of 5 IBM RS/6000 RISC servers & a Silicon Graphics server using AIX (IBM’s version of Unix and IRIX respectively) and X Windows. Test Installation of RedHat 6.2 and Star Office. Duties included running jobs submitted, scanning and archiving documents using HP scanner and CD writer, performing daily and weekly Backups, using magnetic data devices like 3480, 3490, 3590, 8mm exabyte and DLT tapes. Preventive maintenance of HP, Tektronix printers and OYO Geospace plotters. Setting up workstations (X terminals) for the users. Installing, upgrading, configuring and troubleshooting various Hardware and Microsoft software products. Servicing of all Laser & DeskJet printers, Plotters, HP-Scanners, CD-ROM Drives, Back-Up units, Upgrading of SCSI & IDE drives, Memory Upgrades for the Printers, and PC’s Giving support for all the Customer's Program/Data. Transferring Data from One PC to another. Sharing Printers & Plotters through Network .
