After I graduated and got my BA of Graphic Design, I got accepted in Fabria Trading Co. as a graphic designer. This company didn't have a designer before, so they wanted to have their own.
When i got this job they already had designed their new website. So at first my job was to photograph all of their items (which were more then 3000) and upload them on the website along with the descriptions. (www.fabriawebshop.com)
After that new projects were waiting for me... And here are some exeples:
-The shopping bag design
-A catalog for the cardboards separated by colors and gsm.
-The envelop catalog
-I sewed a felt bag that suits all the paper catalogs, then made 200 of it by my own
-CD covers
-Product packaging
-Wrapping paper
-Receipts
-Roll up designs
-Mini invitation cards
-Flyers
-Ads in magazines
-Copybook designs for schools
-Agenda cover design
-Catalogs of some specified products
-Label design
1) I Communicate with the print houses by e-mails, or sometimes I go there personally to avoid any mistakes.
2) I Communicate by e-mail with designers in Italy and China to give them more information about the packaging designs I have done which will be printed in these countries.
3) Design ads for our website www.fabriawebshop.com
4) Photograph every item, clean the background and place them in the website.
4) Follow up with the website and in case of any problem, I contact the responsible of the website.
DIKA Print House is located in Lebanon. That's where I got my first job as a graphic designer.
There was 2 kinds of jobs that I did:
1) Prepare the received files (from companies) for printing
2) Design the project from scratch then prepare it for printing
If I was the one who designed the project, I used to check every detail in it before sending it to the printers, because as we know 1 little mistake in thousands of copies will make a disaster!
Projects i worked on:
-Business Cards
-Agenda
-Receipts
I was from the best 5 of the students in my class.
