Webcor Group is a leader in the trading and distribution of soft commodities and fast-moving consumer goods in Africa. I am part of the Investment Department working on both the Private Family Office Investments (handling the private wealth of Webcor shareholders) and Corporate Investments (M&A deals for the Group).
Main activities:
- Sourced investment opportunities and pitched recommendations to Webcor shareholders
- Performed analysis, due diligence, and financial models on investment opportunities on a wide range of asset classes such as Private Equity, Venture Capital and Real Estate
- Worked on the whole acquisition process of a 5 stars hotel in Portugal from underwriting
to financial structuring, tax planning, due diligence and negotiations prior to closing
- Sourced and executed tech and Venture Capital deals
Advention Business Partners is an independent strategy consulting firm with offices in Dubai, London, Munich, New York, Shanghai, and Paris.
Selected Projects:
- Conducted strategic due diligence for a PE firm for the buyout of a UK based logistics company
- Conducted a benchmark study for 6 international markets to identify best practices for investments in the private healthcare sector
- Assessed a PE firm on its exit strategy for a portfolio group company
Groomi was a Dubai based startup, delivering on-demand male grooming services, from a simple
beard shave to a stylish haircut, to customers’ home, hotel and office.
- Developed the company’s vision and defined clear action plans and yearly targets
- Recruited and lead a team of 3 consisting of an operation, marketing and technology managers
- Managed revenue and expenses to maintain the consistent cash flow of the business
- Established new partnerships and new accounts
TURN8 is a venture fund comprised of a growth accelerator program complemented by a follow-on investment fund.
- Worked closely with the CEO to develop the Corporate Venture Capital (CVC) model and its strategy that encompass tailored programs for large corporates to tap into the startup ecosystem
- Identified new leads and pitched the CVC programs to large corporates while maintaining
relationships with existing customers
- Closed more than $150, 000 in sales with regards to services related to our CVC program
- Screened startups to join our accelerator program and assisted in their strategy and fundraising
- Worked on strategic risk consulting projects and internal control reviews
- Conducted a yearlong consulting review mandated by the central bank of the UAE to
standardize the Emirates Interbank Offered Rate (EIBOR) submission across all panel banks
