Major Responsibilities;
In-Patient Experience
• Dispensing of drugs to In-patients according to Unit dose dispensing system.
• Dealing with controlled and semi controlled medicines
• Involved in preparation of IV admixtures (laminar flow hood)
• Medication counselling for the discharge patients.
• Monthly audits of crash carts and medication rooms, checking the drugs expiry and replacing the outdated and damaged medicines
• Dispense medication for the floor stock and crash cart
• Responsible for the inventory work
Outpatient Experience;
• Maintaining administrative records such as pharmacy files/ patient profiles and providing excellent customer care by accurately dispensing prescribed medications.
• Maintaining telephone etiquette to patients, physicians and answering questions on prescriptions.
• Ensure security, proper handling, and storage procedures of medications.
• Maintaining pharmaceutical stock, creating inventories, and ordering more drugs.
• Ensuring the accuracy of all prescriptions, products and services supplied.
• Perform regular check for expiry dates of drugs in pharmacy.
Major Responsibilities:
• Checking prescription and dispensing medication with proper labelling regarding usage, dosage, counselling and teaching how to use.
• Co- ordinating with insurance companies for approvals and claim submission.
• Establishment and supervision of the record keeping system for the purchase, sale, delivery, storage, and safe keeping of drugs.
• Instructing patients on how to use medication, possible side effects and storage.
• Contacting and working closely with other healthcare professionals.
• Ensuring the accuracy of all prescriptions, products and services supplied.
• Talking to regular patients to see how their treatment is going.
• Able to trains and supervise Pharmacy Assistants.
• Performing any additional pharmacy task within the pharmacy
• Advise customers on the selection of medication brands, medical equipment, or healthcare supplies.
• Maintaining pharmaceutical stock, creating inventories, and ordering more drugs.
• Manage pharmacy operations, hiring or supervising staff, performing administrative duties, or buying or selling non-pharmaceuticals merchandise.
• Offer health promotion and prevention activities, for example, training people to use devices such as blood pressure or diabetes monitors.
• Refer patients to other health professionals or agencies when appropriate.
Major Responsibilities:-
• • Receives prescriptions from patients and verifies that required information is on the form.
• Types prescription label which include information such as patient name, clinician’s name, name of medication, and dosage instructions; gives to pharmacist to review.
• Receives and places incoming supplies on shelves, tagging and pricing each item according to direction.
• Rotate stocks, moving older medication to the front of the shelf so it is used before expiration date.
• Answers telephone calls, providing general information, and routing other calls to appropriate party.
• Assist pharmacist with inventory by counting drugs and supplies.
Bachelor of Pharmacy with 2.3 years experience as a pharmacist with Valid HAAD license.
