Mechanical Engineer
Lead team of Main contractor QA/QC works consists of subcontractor mechanical Engineers and supporting staffs in daily installations and maintenance of MEP systems. Provide assurance to the employer that the contractor complies with the employer´s requirements, and to undertake all necessary certification, test, and quality control checks to facilitate the future statutory permit requirements to be achieved. Utilize exceptional management and engineering proficiencies to analyze daily operations and institute long range technical initiatives. Created and implemented short- and long-range strategies, policies, and procedures to maximize effective use of product and available inventory. Liaised between designs and engineering staff to direct all phases of various renovation projects.
• Supervising the project site activities & ensure the works compliance with the contract agreement.
• Quality review of Project documents such as shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals.
• Attend site meetings and follow up with the contractors to comply with project requirement.
• Various services and facilities inspections and respond the inspection requests, SOR’s, NCR’s.
• Assist authorities’ inspections for the building and facilities.
• Monitor and ensure contractors construction performance, progress, quality & delivery is within the project contract conditions & requirements.
• Review & verification of documents submittals such as materials, method statements, quality, and safety procedures, RFI’s in compliance with the project contract documents and site works records.
• Inspect mechanical work and relevant tests.
• Inspect and approve setting out of mechanical works.
• Acceptance works based on thorough mark up of approved shop drawings based on actual field execution.
• Submitting the monthly reports to the client as per work execution.
Worked as a Mechanical Inspector in LUSAIL RAIL TRANSIT PROJECT
. Following are my Duties and Responsibilities:
• Review and validate the Contractor´s procurement, construction, installation and commissioning plans, procedures, and construction/installation methods.
• Review, monitor and report on the Contractor´s activities in order to validate that the works are carried out in accordance with the Contract.
• Review the Contractor´s approach/methodology to install, operate, maintain and remove all temporary facilities and utility services
• Carry out a sufficient level of independent supervision of the construction, fit-out and installation activities to be able to verify that it is carried out in accordance with the issued for construction (IFC) working/installation drawings, project technical specifications, approved method statements, approved inspection and test plan and the local regulations.
• Advise of any short comings with the contractor´s site supervision and recommend corrective action to be taken.
• Review and validate hazard analysis and job safety management procedures.
• Participate in the review of the completed works, monitoring the close out of any non-conformances or outstanding items.
• Review and monitor the implementation of the quality, safety and environmental management plans in accordance with the Contract requirements.
• Validate that the installation of materials which are subject to Employer´s approval are installed in accordance with the manufacturer´s recommendations and the relevant fire testing reports and certification.
• Certify that the completed works have been carried out in accordance with the design drawings approved by the statutory authorities (e.g. the “DC-2” documentation), the IFC drawings, the material specifications and good practice was followed in terms of workmanship.
• Certify the as-built drawings and the package quality documentation (in-situ integrity test results of materials, etc.) as being a true and accurate record of what has been constructed.
• Witness and certify that testing and commissioning is adequate for the statutory authorities to carry out their site inspections prior to issue of the occupation permits
Worked as a Mechanical Project Engineer with M/s Blueprint Design and Contracting W.L.L, Doha -Qatar. Following are my Duties and Responsibilities:
• Monitoring and ensuring all Fire Safety System and Equipment’s like sprinklers, fire pumps, firefighting system, Air Conditioning systems, Chiller plants, Smoke Management System are fully operational and maintain zero tolerance to the same
• Preparing preventive maintenance (PPM) plan and ensuring it is performed as per schedule, cost and deadline to minimize the down time of plant, machineries, gas services, Fire Safety Equipment’s, HVAC including all other MEP systems and services.
• Assisting GM Operations & Commercial team in preparing the annual maintenance contract (AMC) or Service Level Agreement (SLA) for all the HVAC, Generators, elevators, escalators, pumps, firefighting equipment’s etc.
• Mobilization of manpower for the project maintenance.
• Supervision of installation of HVAC, Plumbing & Firefighting items as per standard norms. Participating in site meetings with client / consultant.
• Responsible to protect own health and safety by working in compliance with established safe work practices and procedures.
• Diagnosing breakdown problems and carrying out quality inspections on jobs.
• Actively participating with third party during Testing and commissioning of Mechanical system.
• Organizing, coordinating, and managing with supervisor for the day-to-day operation of the jobsite.
• Assist in planning maintenance activities, including weekend work and plant shutdowns etc
Project Construction of DEVELOPMENT LAND OF EINKHALID COMMERCIAL PROJECT. (Client: Qatar Navigation - Milaha)
• Carry out Material inspections, Site Mechanical work inspection (i.e., HVAC, Firefighting, Plumbing drainage works, Plant rooms.) for installation, testing and final fixes with Third party inspectors and consultants.
• Prepare reading and understanding of project technical specifications and QCS-2010 in connection with the design. Liaise with senior mechanical engineer and project manager for all concerned technical issues related to design and site.
• Attending internal meetings and get ready for discussion with all necessary WORK INSPECTION REQUEST status log, testing diagrams, noncompliance observations etc.,
• Issuing internal NCRs/ FORs to site team for non-standard / non-confirmative works.
• Maintaining quality records for the project from initiation phase to project close out phase.
Worked as a Mechanical Site Engineer with M/s New System Engineering W.L.L, Doha -Qatar. Following are my Duties and Responsibilities:
• Preparation of ITP (Inspection and test plan) and MEP services construction checklist and distribution to site execution team for internal checks prior to inspection.
• Carry out Material inspections, Site Mechanical work inspection (i.e. HVAC, Firefighting, Plumbing drainage works, Plant rooms.) for installation, testing and final fixes with Third party inspectors and consultants.
• Monitoring of Rejected inspections and follow up with site execution team for re-submission.
• Plans & coordinates QA/QC activities for all MEP services and making certain of quality control of the work in accordance to contract specifications.
• Reviewing of shop drawings and method statements for the services prior to implement at site.
• Close out of FORs, NCRs issued from consultant.
• Providing training to QC - inspectors within department to successful carried out the inspections.
• Carried out system equipment’s pre-commissioning and commissioning inspections with consultants prior to continue the system.
• Identifying process improvements and preparing recommendations for project development & implementation.
• Issuing internal NCRs/ FORs to site team for non-standard / non-confirmative works.
• Maintaining quality records for the project from initiation phase to project close out phase.
• Safe keeping of operation and maintenance manuals for equipment’s as per quality records procedure.
• Attending weekly coordination meeting with site execution team, top management, main contractor, and consultant.
Worked as a Mechanical Piping Engineer with M/s Ceyen Techno Projects Private Limited, Nagothane -India. Following are my Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for planning, organizing and execution of piping fabrication and erection works
• Allocation of material, man power and equipment for daily work activities
• Monitor all piping installation and modification activities
• Ensure the productivity and high quality of the subordinates and the sub-contractors activities
• Responsible of Pressure Testing activities of piping systems
