Workshop Manager
Running a workshop with a team of twelve people mainly mechanics and auto electricians. The roll involves all aspects of staff monitoring. Liaising with the stores department and making sure that any deficiencies in the stores have minimal impact on the flow of vehicles through the workshop. Duties also include the allocation of overtime when needed. Also arranging the collection of completed vehicle and the delivery of vehicles that are to be completed.


Selected Achievements
• Introduced new electronic "T" card system to increase the flow of information around the company.
• Addressing the concerns of the workshop personnel.
• Bringing in a time and motion study to the workshop so that areas of concern can be targeted.

Supervisor
Managing a team of between 25 and 60 people, depending on the current requirements. Duties include, booking in the staff and sending them to areas where they are needed. Also re-allocating staff on a daily basis as the needs of the various departments arise. Handling staff training and development, and handling staff issues, such as pay, time off and discipline.

With a team of 6 mechanics, making sure that the correct parts have been ordered and that vehicles have been repaired to exacting standards, tracking staff hours and time spent on each vehicle.

Millbrook/American military (Kuwait, desert based)
Supervisor/ Lead
Overseeing a team of 16 mechanics in their daily routine of service and repair of military vehicles, ensuring that the correct parts have been ordered for each vehicle and that they are distributed correctly. Keeping track of staff and logging hours on each vehicle and dealing with staff sickness and absenteeism. Upon the changing of the contract, I was moved to keep track and account for the retro fit armor with 16 personnel, this involved looking after over a hundred million pounds worth of equipment.

American Military (Germany)
Mechanic/Lead Foreman
Foreman at a central hub with 30 mechanics, duties included logging staff hours and time off, also keeping track of the amount of time spent on each piece of equipment. Making sure that the correct parts have been ordered and they have arrived within the time frame. Making sure that missions are completed within the time frame. Also keeping the workshop and personnel in line with health and safety procedures.

• Met a target mission that was only achieved by one other site.
• Improved health and safety.

TURNERS/VT MERLIN
Service Technician
Servicing and repairing the Ruston 8rkc constant duty diesel engines. While an engine was having a major service, the shift changed to seven shifts of twelve hours until completion (usually three months) . Spent time on the remote mountain radar sites.

Batcher/Supervisor
Planning the next day's work load and making sure that all deliveries that would be needed were booked in advance. Also responsible for site health and safety, making sure that all personnel entering the site were compliant.


Selected Achievements
• Carried out large pours (200mtrs +) without any problems and kept the flow constant so not to ruin each slab as it was laid.
• Improved health and safety.
Improved site cleanliness by adding a small modification to the batching conveyor

Department Manager (Various)
Managing the fresh meat department in the busy Sandhurst extra store during the Christmas period, making sure those customers had the wide selection and good quality that they expect. Dealing with staff issues and training. Covering the roll of duty manager for early mornings to receive the store from the night shift, or late duty manager to hand the store over to the night shift.

Transport Manager/Assistant Depot Manager
Running the transport office and booking office, calculating depot weekly turnover and examining drivers' tachographs in order to calculate their wages. Dealing with staff issues and the maintenance of the fleet of vehicles.

• Increased depot turnover and efficiency by reworking driver's areas.
• Eased tension among workforce when a smaller local concern was acquired.
