•Analyze and interpret the slag results from both the Electric arc & Ladle refining furnaces.
•Analyze water samples from the water treatment plant and from the Continuous casting machine (CCM) .
•Responsible for testing the physical and chemical properties of steel products.
•Responsible for conducting an inventory of all chemicals, laboratory equipments.
•Compile laboratory test data and perform appropriate analyses.
•Monitor product quality to ensure compliance with standards and specifications
•Assist the senior chemist with performing pilot study activities.
•Train new employees on topics such as the proper operation of laboratory equipments and scientific procedures.
•Provide and maintain a safe work environment by participating in safety programs and by conducting laboratory safety audits.
