•Direct reports are four up to me. I have one direct report to the Operations Manager.
•I have daily reports from Quality, Finance, Engineering, In Bound & Out Bound Logistics, Milk Balance & Planning.
•I’m responsible for the day to day manufacture of all Juice and UHT products produced by Almarai.
•I supply Laban SKU’s (drinking yoghurt) in cooperation with Almarai’s second manufacturing plant.
•Total volume produced during peak within my plant is 2.2 million liters of liquid, some 74 SKU’s daily.
•My staffing levels are 427.
Total green field site for manufacture of UHT milk products for direct sale to China and Hong Kong.
•Commissioning of plant & equipment imported new to New Zealand (un-trialled).
•Successful validation of the new UHT plants & filling equipment to New Zealand Ministry for Primary Industries (formerly known as MAF) requirements.
•Total staffing level of 60 permanent and 53 temporary staff from office administration, laboratory staff, factory team members to day time fork hoist operators and packing staff.
•Direct reports to me are CFO
Responsible for the development of staffing structure and payment levels, employment contracts, job descriptions, recruitment plan, staff placements, training programs to NZ standards, standard operating procedures for plant operations, company policies, H&S policies, House Rules, reporting architecture for all financial cost centers, maintenance programs, HACCP, Risk Management Program, E-Certificates, ordering procedures & approvals, along with all other operational requirements to meet company reports.
•Developed track and trace systems for finished products that include warehouse management.
•Responsible for Budgets, Stock Control, Financial Reporting, Market Analysis, Marketing, Customer Service, Import/Export for Specialised Ingredients & Packaging & R&M items, consumable materials.
•Successful operational budget reduction of some NZD3m annually.
•Actively sourced key investor, development of the Business plan and budget, milk supply strategy, community relations, PR Campaign
Asia Pacific
•2008 WINNER of the Danfoss global Man on the Moon competition, an Entrepreneurial Business Development initiative. This lead to a scholarship to M.I.T. Boston with a multinational network being developed.
•Primary role in Asia Pacific was to educate local staff on Dairy Applications utilising the Danfoss Equipment as with visits at the client corporate level in support of local projects and the Sales Representative on the ground.
•Responsible for million dollar Budget, Specialised Control Equipment with Technical Knowledge, Financial Reporting, Customer Service, Product Development and Trials.
•I liaised directly at the Corporate and multi-tier levels of our customers and suppliers.
•Clientele / clients varied and this required an in-depth knowledge of each industry and their production needs for process control, product manufacturing and quality assurance.
•KPI’s included development of training & marketing material for global distribution in the Food area, improved margins, reduced invoice back-logs, up-dating & management of all Asia - Pacific Dairy Projects.
Reporting was via matrix design both in Australasia and Europe.
•Responsible for $M Budget, Specialised Processing Equipment with Technical Knowledge, Financial Reporting, Customer Service, Product Development and Trials.
•Engineering - Food Manufacturing practices and design are of paramount importance as with Contractual and Legal understanding for Equipment and Process supply.
•Liaised directly at the Corporate and multi-tier levels of our customers and suppliers.
•Clientele / client base varied and this required in-depth knowledge of each industry and their production needs for process control, product manufacturing and quality assurance.
•KPI’s included time to market, minimal invoice back-logs, improved margins, extraction in all market segments for supply and expedient contract sign-off.

•I was responsible for Budgets, Stock Control, Financial Reporting, Customer Service and Import/Exports for Specialised Materials.
•One of my major KPI’s was to reduce cost of sales. I achieved this by manufacturing efficiencies and improved supply contracts.
•I was responsible for Quality Control and Assurance of products manufactured at the Hamilton and Sydney (Australia) plants.
•I liaised directly at the Corporate Level of our customers.
•We had a varied clientele / client base and this required an in-depth knowledge of each industry and their legislative requirements.
I was responsible for Budgets, Stock Control, Financial Reporting, Market Analysis, Product Development and Trials, Front Line and Corporate Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Import/Export for Specialised Packaging Materials.
•I increased sales by 8% annually.
•I had sole responsibility for Quality Control and Assurance in the State of Queensland for all packaging materials (printed and plain) supplied by and to our company and ran numerous trials for clients under controlled and measured conditions. I had to report back at the Corporate and Factory Level. Our Company was accredited to ISO 9002.
•I had a varied clientele / client base ranging from Dairy, Liquid Products, Red Meat, Pet Food, Confectionery and Dry Ingredients and this required an in-depth knowledge of each industry as each required different solutions. Here however, I could adopt knowledge from one industry into another to improve our performance.
I designed processes, wrote and controlled contracts, budgets, Gantt chart, project procurement, installation, commissioning and final contract sign-off work and quality assurance within the Food and Liquid Drink Manufacturing Sectors.
•My excellent technical knowledge and expertise served me well on overseas assignments which included, but were not limited to, design and specification of a milk recombining UHT, ESL and Yoghurt plant in South East Asia, installation and commissioning works in the Dairy Industry in Australia.
•I was responsible for our company’s accreditation and adherence to ISO9001. This also included our offices and projects in Australia. I achieved this by compiling and evolving our QA manuals as a result of identifiable necessities, conducting audits both internal and externally of our company, report writing, presentation and training modules for all levels of staff from the Companies CEO to our Stores personnel.
•I carried out supplier audits to ensure our standards were being met by products manufactured and supplied to the company. All non-compliant items were traceable to source and securely isolated as per procedure.
•I ensured our satellite Project Offices adhered to our ISO standards and document procedures by way of structured audits.
•As a result of my dogmatic approach, our company went from a regulatory 6 month external audit to 10 monthly audits.
I managed the daily operations, budgeting and costing of various cost centers, supervision and control of staff and customer service.
•I developed the companies effluent discharge programs that exceed the council’s requirements. Through my program, our inspection went from weekly to twice yearly.
•I developed the staff training modules for all areas of operation. I designed and developed the training on a skills based system and this was measurable and transparent. As a result, our Quality Assurance increased as our rework reduced by 40%
Tui Milk Products, New
I was responsible for daily and forecast operations and performance of a 3 tonne Powder Plant, direct management of shift maintenance teams comprising of 5 team members and my reporting line was directly to the Powder Operations Manager and Site Manager. I liaised directly with the NZDB on a daily basis on the
I was responsible for staff planning, plant & production monitoring, in-line product testing and Quality Assurance in manufacturing of a variety of dairy products: cheese, instant and standard milk powders, butter, anhydrous milk fat and town milk supply products. I achieved this through liaison with the Laboratory, Maintenance and other Process Factories on site.
•I was personally selected to be involved in planning and commissioning of new projects that included a 7 ton per hour Powder Plant through to commercial operation at Supervisory level.
•In demonstration of my exceptional work ethics, I was selected to enter the Management Cadet Scheme in 1984 and successfully completed the Diploma in Dairy Technology in 1986.
