A Multi Billion Dollar project, located approximately 20 Klms from Dukhan, known as C-108-01. Design and Build of the Qatar Armed Forces Airbase. The site is split into 3 Project Management Teams, PM1, PM2 & PM3 all responsible for their part of the Project, and I have sole responsibility in overseeing the Health, Safety and Environment of all of them. With a large team of Safety Officers (50) under my control to help maintain the site.

With COVID-19 pandemic effecting everyone worldwide we have maintained a strict policy on entering the site since April 2020, I have introduced doing Health checks on everyone who enters the site, monitoring their temperatures, checking their Ehteraz, and enforcing the need to wear a face mask, without these 3 items they are refused entre, anyone with a high temperature is refused entry to the site and advised to go to the nearest test center.

Roles and Responsibilities: With no consultant on this project it falls to ACT to take on this role as well as being the Main Contractor and execute it with due diligence. I’ve had to write and maintain, update the Projects HSE Plan and the Environmental Health and Safety Plan & policies and procedures, specific at each stage of the project.

Review and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly, reports and presentations as well as maintaining policies and procedures such as Safe Systems of Work, Risk Assessments, and Method Statements, inspect all work areas from construction, civil, mechanical, MEP, and infra works ensure they are accurate and in line with the client’s requirements. Ensure that we are following QCS 2014 and that our Sub-contractors also follow, maintaining ACT certification of ISO 45000:2018, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 9001:2015 are kept up to date.

Look after 60 to 80 Sub-contractors and also another 100 who are the main sub-contractors, sub-contractor who are on the site, and to ensure their compliance with the projects requirements, policies and procedures.

Proposed corrective / preventive action if needed. Reporting any breaches of safety regulation in details to Project Manager. Providing a liaison between the site management and Client. Decisions on corrective action. Determine training needs of health, safety, fire protection and environment protection.

Provide adequate resources for an efficient implementation of the Health, Safety and Environmental, Procedure on the job site. The labors are equipped with the safety equipment. The working conditions are safe (as excavated areas, scaffolding, shuttering etc.). Ensure Site staff to attend daily tool box talks conducted by the Site Engineer, Supervisor or Foreman.

Duties and Responsibilities: Overall HSE management of Aspire Project and assisting the Senior HSE Manager in HSE Coverage of overall projects of CDC. Developing & directing loss prevention strategies and systems to achieve safety objectives-Establish and ensure implementation of the HSE management system in line with OHSAS 18001-2007 & ISO 14001 QCS standards on all the construction phases-Monitoring and reviewing the effectiveness of management systems-Overseeing health and safety performance of sub-contractors-Design, direct and implement effective safety programs, design on-site safety training program.-Collect, analyze and maintain statistics on incidents and first aid cases-Review periodically plan to re-affirm its adequacy and upgrade standards & procedures in the work environments focusing on continued improvements to eliminate and prevent injury or disease.

Currently in phase 1, this includes site preparation, the Office and Canteen Building, Medical Centre, Helipad, Central Plant and Substation and all external works and utility services, phase 1 is due completion in 2014.

Roles and responsibilities: Encompass all work areas from construction, civil, mechanical, electrical, and infra works- report directly to the Project Manager, Corporate HSE Director, Corporate HSE Group, as well as all Senior Management within the organization - Review daily, weekly and monthly policies and procedures such as Safe Systems of Work, JSA, and Method Statements-ensure they are accurate and in line with the clients requirements at all times-review all new safety related documentation prior to submittal to the client-Produce when requested site presentations not only for visitors to the MPAC Project -conduct daily site inspections with client as well as Senior Management -attend the Project Managers weekly in-house team meetings, and give briefings on the current safety status within the project-attending the clients weekly Safety-the main focus on site for all Accident and Incident Investigations.

Roles and Responsibilities: Organize and co-ordinate all Kettaneh's Environmental Health and Safety policies and procedures in alignment with our clients policies and procedures and Qatar Gas's policies and procedures-Ensure that safe systems of work are implemented and that the ownership of safety is disseminated to the entire workforce on the project, from Senior Management, Engineers and Workers who are involved in all the civil works for the project, in on-site and off-site areas-encompass all work areas in which Kettaneh are involved in within Qatar Gas, such as construction in the Brownfield (live plant), Greenfield (construction site) and TSF (lay- down area), reported directly to the Project Manager and Corporate QEHS Manager, as well as all Senior Management within the organization - ensure that Kettaneh's certification of OHSAS 18001:2007, ISO 14001:2004 and ISO 9001:2008 are maintained- focal point for our clients, Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly Senior Management Meetings as well as Pre-shutdown Meetings-prepare the Project Manager's monthly presentations for the client Senior Management Safety Meetings.
