Job Responsibilities
• Responsible for supporting critical production databases on UNIX, Solaris, AIX, Windows & Linux platforms.
* Basic Administration experience in E-Business Suite R12.
• Implemented Single node RAC Dataguard for Emirates Post (EPG).
• RAC database upgrdation for Department of Economics, Dubai (DED).
• UNIX / Linux shell scripting for monitoring oracle Database status, security & backups.
• Provided health check of production EBS ( E-Business Suite) to address many instability and performance issues and documented findings and implement recommendations.\
• Involved more than 15 critical Production database migration and Upgrdation activities.
• Installing Oracle on Linux, Solaris, AIX, HP UX and windows platforms.
• RAC implementation on Windows and Linux Platform. Oracle fail-safe implementation.
• Supported Ebiz Databases and applications in CSB Govt of Bahrain.
• Supported mission critical Oracle and SQL databases for Ministry of Industries & Commerce, Bahrain
• UNIX / Linux shell scripting for monitoring oracle Database status, security & backups.
• Experienced in maintaining and supporting large volumes of Database in Various environments.
• Plan, install and configure Weblogic on HP UNIX Platform.
• Install and Configure Oracle Fusion Middleware componenets (Forms and Reports) on HP-UNIX.
• RAC database upgradation with standby database and ASM storage on Linux platform
• Upgradation and Migration of Oracle Databases on various platforms.
• Applying Grid Infrastructure Patch Set Update (GI-PSU) on Grid home and RDBMS home
• Rebuilding of standby database when the standby database was out of sync with its primary database.
• Installation and configueration of SQL Server 2008 and 2012.
• Check the Event Viewer and SQL Error logs for any errors that may of occurred.
• Responsible for overall planning, implementing and maintaining of the database disaster recovery strategies.
• Performing DB patching, DB Installation, troubleshoot issues/errors/incidents, Collaborate with Oracle support for bugs & issues resolutions and personal research.
• Applying PSU patch on RAC and non-RAC databases.
• Assisting Netbackup team for Backup configuration and Database restoration. (VERITAS Net Backup)
• Administering ASM instances and creating disk groups.
• Scheduling various jobs to be fired through CRON jobs, DBMS_JOBS and Windows Scheduler.
• Oracle Dataguard Switchover and switch back activities.
• Core member of Solution delivery team for providing customized solution & pre-sales activities like SOW preperations and effort estimation, staffing of DBA activities of Oracle proposals.
• Database Backup/Recovery By using RMAN and User Managed Backups.
• Performing export and import of tables and schemas using exp/imp and expdp/impdp.
• Involved in preparation of shell scripts for database monitoring activities. Hot, Cold and logical backup scripts to automate the backup procedures.
• Actively participated many DBA Knowledge transition from onshore to offshore.
• Handling performance issues and helping application team and end user in optimizing the applications.
• UNIX / Linux shell scripting for monitoring oracle Database status, security & backups.
• Incident, Change management, Problem Management - BMC Remedy / Service Centre
• Administering and managing large and widely-spread production standalone / RAC database environments.
• Database upgradation based on downtime available is done at regular interval. Have been part of smooth upgrades from 8i/9i to 10g and 10g to 11g in production environment
• Performing DB patching, DB Installation, troubleshoot issues/errors/incidents, Collaborate with Oracle support for bugs & issues resolutions and personal research.
• Raising CPMS for production database changes and attending change management meetings regularly.
• Cloned/Refreshed databases from Production database using RMAN and user managed backups.
• Configuration and maintenance of Data guard setups. Actively involved in implementing new features of 11gR2 Active data guard for EDSN customer.
• Oracle Installation and Database Creation on UNIX and Windows Servers
• Reorganization of database objects with the export and import utility.
• Gathering the database statistics and doing the database optimization through statspack/AWR/ADDM report.
• Rebuilding of standby database when the standby database was out of sync with its primary database.
• Upgradation and Migration of Oracle Database.
• Actively part of DR and cluster failover test.
• Configuring RMAN Shell script for cold and Hot Backups.
• Database Backup/Recovery By using RMAN and User Managed Backups.
• Creating and maintaining users with quota allocation and granting them the privileges, roles.
• Performing export and import of tables and schemas using exp/imp and expdp/impdp.
• Storage upgradation along with UNIX and SAN team.
* Performance Tuning.
• Providing Oracle DBA support for multiple large databases in production, development and test environments for various types of databases - OLTP and Data warehouse.
• Provided production support as Oracle Primary, resolving requests or problems raised by application groups or users in various business clusters, and coordinating with UNIX team, Network team etc.
• Provided Oracle DBA support for a number of databases (Both Standalone and RAC).
• Performance tuning, database refresh, and day-to-day database monitoring activities
• Database Installations, Upgrades, Migrations and Patch Management on UNIX and NT.
• Involved in Database Refresh and Upgrade activity.
• Managing and maintaining internal database and providing online support for users.
• Installing and configuring oracle, Creating Database & objects both UNIX and Windows environment
• Hot backups, Cold backups, RMAN Backups, logical backup, Archive Process, Space management, Creating PLSQL procedures, Generating SQL queries and Statspack report
• Checking segments with greater than 10 extents, segments nearing max extents, checking for errors in alert logs and trace files, etc.
• Creating database users and by setting the default & temporary tablespaces, assigning quotas, roles, privileges and profiles to users.
• Making tablespaces available to users, adding datafiles to the tablespaces and resizing of datafiles.
• Daily monitoring the database alert log file & trace files for any error messages, periodic checking tablespaces, rollback segments & index status.
• Determining common performance problems, monitoring, configuring servers
• Performance optimization and Tuning.
• Upgradation of Oracle 9.2.0.2 to Oracle 9.2.0.6
• Taking backup using expdp (Data Pump).
• Responsible for the installation, upgrades, and maintenance of all Oracle Database on UNIX and Windows environment
