Senior HR Officer ADNOC Drilling - Jan 2009 - Jan 2019

In this position, I spent around 10 years in handling various responsibilities and tasks related to a wide range of HR issues. The summary of the responsibilities in each category are:


Talent Management & Retention
• Engaging with line Managers in identification of Key positions (Managerial & Technical) by conducting business impact assessment and replacement complexity assessment of the short listed key positions.
• Driving all internal stakeholders towards HR Excellence by key talent retention, succession planning, HR automation, and talent management.
• Contributing in drawing out action plans and strategize to maximize Retention while working towards Attrition minimization.
• Participate in the identification of High Potential individuals based on both performance and capabilities of these individuals. Liaise with line managers to assess the potential of their high performing individuals via leadership competencies assessment.
• Assist line Managers to identify the potential successors for respective divisions’ key positions by conducting readiness assessment in term of performance and potentials.
• Prepare Personal development plan (PDP) for identified employees to speed up their developments towards their respective target positions.
• Arrange Talent Review Committees (TRC) which includes several senior leaders and representatives from the Human Capital function to review the succession plan, discuss successor’s readiness level, and nominate other potential successors.

Employee Training & Development
• Contributing in programs aimed at creating and managing a lean and multi-skilled workforce while supporting and facilitating the implementation of business structure reorganization to deliver efficiencies.
• Playing a key role in Implementing Company policy on training and development with particular reference to UAE Nationals.
• Planning, organising and control training programs to effectively meet training and development needs of all divisions.
• Identifying of needs through detailed training needs analysis (TNA) to identify skills and knowledge requirements and assessing levels of existing employees.
• Preparing of Training Master Plan (TMP) for the whole company through gathering training needs from all divisions and determining the course titles, objectives, target attendees and method of trainings.
• Initiating, developing and maintaining close liaison with both national and international training institutions to provide the type of training that meets company’s needs and standards.
• Contributing in selecting suitable providers to run In-house programs, and negotiates costs/other provisions before commencing agreements with them.
• Assisting in determining the methodologies for in-house programs and specifies teaching materials. Ensuring pre-tests, post-tests and evaluation reports are completed on all participants.
• Arranging external training programs based on pre-determined needs in TMP and inform attendees with joining instruction, training venue and attendance policy accordingly.
• Assisting the Learning & Development Manager in the preparation of the budge and other regular reports on activities.

Employee Relations

• Playing a key role in protecting interests of employees and the company in accordance with company HR policies and regional labor laws and regulations.
• Acting as a trusted business partner to extract group synergies, consult and support line managers across the business units to create efficiencies.
• Preparing and handling the Employee Engagement Survey, Employee Satisfaction survey and Human Capital Focused survey, analyzing results and contributing in ensuring implementation of actions by all departments.

• Planning and designing employees benefit packages as per the company guidelines and in cooperation with Operations and Finance departments.
• Supervising the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department and ensuring all the employees comply with the HR policies.
• Maintaining a detailed record of the company’s employees and handling all matters related to employee relations.
• Overseeing the employee's termination process and conducting exit interviews to identify the reason for termination/resignation.
• Managing workplace safety issues and complaints.
• Organizing events and conferences for the employees

• Participating in the recruitment of high number of staff for ADNOC Petrol Stations, recruited from overseas through Company nominated Agencies or from the local market.
• Preparing time schedule for the recruitment campaign.
• Screening and verify the details of all candidates’ CVs received from Agencies in term of education, job related experience and other standard company requirements.
• Conducting personal interviews and provide candidates with technical tests.
• Combining and assess interview and test results and inform applicants accordingly.
• Arranging and follow up batch transportation, Visas, Accommodation, Medical check ..etc for selected new candidates to coincide with the opening of new Filling Stations.
• Processing hiring formalities such as internal employment procedures, preparation of employment offers to candidates and clearance from the local authorities.
• Arranging with Training Section for the induction and familiarization training for new employees.
• Preparing weekly/ monthly recruitment status reports for Management.
