The main responsibilities are building an IP transport network for 3G projects, and troubleshooting.
•Expertly built up more than 20 transmission rings for 3G and 2G network and HOP’s using 4+0 & 4+1 configuration.
•Configured Ericsson MW 4+0, Ethernet for IPRAN on more than 500’s TN 5 & 4.4 (VLAN, ports, LAN, WAN, PDH-IME, bridges), Ericsson Traffic Node (VLAN, QOS and Ethernet parameters); DCN-Over VLAN; and RSTP/MSTP.
•Headed VLAN/IP routing, including dropping and loop back check for IUB from Node B to RNC.
•Identified/rectified IUB/MUB IP connectivity issues from TX perspective and troubleshot Node B Sync/Link.
•Worked in close collaboration with the Radio deployment team on integrating 3G Nodes B into IPRAN network.
•Held accountable for HOP Up gradations using MMU2H & 2D, AMM swap.
•Undertook a wide remit of other tasks in support of project goals, including collecting documentation for technical site survey report, continually updating plans for specific single site, and designing the material list/controlling material flow.
•Increased the quality of the sites, in conjunction with subcontractors, solved any problems escalated by subcontractors, and pushed subcontractors to deliver sites within the defined lead time and to set quality parameters.
•Strictly controlled and monitored the quantities written on the BOQ by the subcontractor and ascertained that the Calculator validated the BOQ within a timely manner.
Ericsson Radio Access Network and Microwave
Talkpool Uganda with Airtel & MTN Capacity upgrade project (Jul 2011 - Dec 2011).
•Tasked with installing, commissioning and the TRX Capacity Expansions of Ericsson 6000 series RBS.
•Utilized UMTS/WCDMA to install, commission and integrate Ericsson equipment (3518 & 3418).
•Implemented GSM Base Station right from site build-up to commissioning, testing and operation/maintenance of Ericsson (RBS 2216, 2116, 2106, 2106i, 2206).
•Undertook TG/multi band synchronization of the RBS 2000 & 6000 series; and configured Ethernet for IPRAN on TN 4.4 (VLAN, Ports, LAN, WAN, PDH-IME, Bridges)/NPU 1C, NPU 3B, ETU2 & ETU 2B.
•Installed, tested, commissioned and maintained Microwave like Ericsson ML LH, Minilink TN (STM uses MMU 2H, 2D, 2E&2F, XPIC technology), Minilink HC, Minilink E.
•Installation, Testing, Commissioning and Alarm configuration of Ericsson BBS (6500, 8516) and Ericsson Power systems for 3.5G & 3G equipment (SSC, PBC-MU2, PBC-BU2).
•Responsible for capacity up gradation of Microwave transmission links like ML-E to ML- HC, ML-TN, STM 1, STM 2 and ML LH.
•Took the lead on BTS capacity expansions from normal configurations to higher configurations, e.g. 12+12+12 configurations, and BTS swapping (2000 series to 6000).
•Gained experience of DCN on Minilink HC & TN for NMS and troubleshot DCN remotely via CL.
•Handling the site master; checked the VSWR, cable loss and return loss (Anritsu, Bird); cleared the BTS and microwave transmission link alarms.
•Held accountable for quality checking pre-handover; deployed teams in accordance with customer needs; planned/implemented projects to set targets; and provided technical resolution for field team.
•Coordinated with OMCR, Transmission, RF Planning, O&M departments and own teammates to support smooth project delivery
