The Profile Reports into the CFO of the Group;
Role - Business Process Improvement in one of the Divisions (Al Mana Maples) engaged in Contracting related to
- Interior Designs
- Joinery & Workshop
- Supply of Furniture and Fixtures to Hotels / Restaurants / Offices
- Franchise Business related to Furniture / Carpets / Soft Furnishing
The Profile requires assisting the General Manager in streamlining the Business process and practices related to Contract Tendering / Follow up on the Completion of the projects / Debtors collection / streamline the Human Resources Team / Establish Reporting and Review Mechanism. To Bridge the Reporting process to Corporate Management
Further the Role also envisages setting up a Retail Division in Furniture - the Franchise for the same has already been signed.
Additional Responsibilities has been assigned to facilitate the Services provided by the Joinery / Workshop and also to identify and set up a new Factory for Carpentry and Joinery.
Presently - with the "THE LANDMARK GROUP - DUBAI" - (Retail Chain in the Gulf)
- Joined the company in Dubai in Sept '2002, as Finance Manager for Shoe Mart Concept
- Moved on to Qatar in July '2003 as Territory Finance Manager - a Multi Concept Territory having Babyshop, Shoemart, Splash, Lifestyle and Home Centre
- Promoted as Dy. General Manager in July '2006.
- Took over the charge of the territory as General Manager in July '2010.
- I am a part of all Strategic Decision making for the Territory Operations and overseeing Finance /Projects / Supply Chain Management (Imports & Warehousing) at the Territory / Legal and Statutory Issues / Property & Mall Management.
-Reporting To - Corporate Office in Dubai.
- The Current Staff Strength at the Territory stands at 1200.
Strategic Functions
➢ Set up the Road Map for the Company's growth in the Territory.
➢ Drive the achievement of Budgeted Nos and the targets.
➢ Develop a proper Command & Control Structure at the territory.
➢ Evaluate Human Resources to propel Territory growth - planning and training.
➢ Conducting Overseas Recruitment Drives - for key Management positions in the territory.
➢ Ensure availability of adequate Supply Chain facilities in the territory.
➢ Relationship Management with Business Associates.
➢ Ensure coordination with the Concept Offices at Corporate office
➢ Reporting into Board of Directors at Corporate Office based in Dubai.
Achievements in this JOB:
1. Consistently maintained a very high profitability of operations thru optimal pricing strategies at the territory level and Cost Controls
2. Maintained a very high productivity and yield from Stores thru marketing strategies. The yield per sq. Ft in Qatar was highest in the group.
3. Increasing Warehousing Space - doubling over the last 3 years
4. Business Expansion - Increase of Retail space in the Territory by 35% in the last 3 years. (Addition of Barwa / Ryyan Max) . Signed up deals with Gulf Mall, and Dar-a-salaam Mall.
5. Initiated Employee Engagement Program, which had been running successfully for the last 4 years now.
6. Restructuring of Companies - Handling the conversion of companies into a foreign holding.
7. Align the Non Retail portfolios in the group - eg. Fun City, Fitness First, Food and Beverage.
8. Negotiated with Mall Management for Rent Free space on at least 2 occasions resulting in - benefit to the company of 4 mn. QR. (appx)
