Responsibilities: Supporting day to day activities of P&G which has Datacenters across the world. Supporting around 1400 plus Linux/UNIX boxes. We perform all activities from server provisioning, configuring, supporting production issues, executing all kind of changes.
Red Hat and HP UNIX Implementation
• We are working in all the below via Service Manager (HP’s Internal ticketing tool) as rotational shifts to meet the defined SLA and every month we are achieving 98% of the SLA in all.
o Change Management
o Incident Management
o New Installation
o Problem Management
• We have a huge Factory setup across the world in different Regions (Asia Pacific, North America, Europe) for which we are providing remote support called ALICS platform and it’s deployed utilizing HP ProLiant hardware/Blade Enclosure, VMWare vSphere and HP Store Virtual® VSA/LHN Storage technology.

• Taken additional responsibilities to work on SUSE Linux in building, testing various HP proprietary tools for the P&G customer environment.
• End to End testing for VMWare 6.7, prepared the change plan for Production Rollout
• Solarwinds deployment and production Rollout.
• Red Hat Enterprise 7.X testing along with various monitoring(OVO and Solarwinds) and application(SAP, Weblogic software, Apache… etc), updated the SOP for production rollout.
• Periodically checking the SECURITY and BUG Fixes for Operating System and Hardware and prepare plan for production rollout.
• Successfully tested and recommended for rollout for the new backup tool(Relax and Recover (ReaR) from Red Hat
• Handled End to End Problem management for Customer environment, following up with pear/within team for resolution and updating the same in KEDB, arranged regular Problem Management meetings and submitted the report to P&G management on bi-monthly basis.
• Participating in Solution validation calls and validating the same.
• Installing, Configuring and troubleshooting of Red Hat Linux (4.x, 5.x and 6.x) and deploying the security patches to the HP, DELL and IBM Servers (ProLiant, PowerEdge and Xseries Servers)
• Building the Servers using Kick Start in Red hat Linux for Global Customers
• Hardening the servers as per TCL standard and customer specific requirement.
• IP Teaming Configuration using Bonding
• Creating File Systems using LVM and resizing them on a fly.
• Maintaining File Systems and Backup
• Patching the servers using yum
• Firmware upgrades for Bios and iLO(HP), iDRAC(Dell)
Operations
• Providing remote support for the MHS customers hosted across Globe (UK, US, Singapore, and all other parts (Chennai, Mumbai, Hyderabad) of India).

• Checking whether all the features of the guest operating system are working normally and deploying necessary patches on all guest operating systems.
• Downloading latest updates from ITRC and upgrading the UNIX IVMs to the latest patches and validating the guest OS on different flavor of operating systems.
• Providing on-call system support over round the clock for technical analysis, diagnosis, installation, maintenance, and modification to resolution or escalations in a 3-Tiered environment ensuring 100% compliance with Service Level Agreement.
• Participating in business calls, process meeting in weekly basis to analyze and review the change request, business critical incidents.
• Worked in Wheels India Ltd (TVS Group) thro Futurenet Technologies as Network Engineer.
• Installing configuring and maintaining of Assembled machines.
• System Administration Activities including user administration, and ISA server administration, Interaction with clients.
• Solving day to day Level-2 problems and following it up with the customer until closure through mailing system.
• Installation & Up-gradation of Operating system patches, Regular backup on tapes using LEGOTO Backup software.
• Proactively monitoring the system's health and taking preventive or corrective action as required.
• Maintaining test servers with a similar set up installed for doing any proactive testing and later applying it in the Production server.

• Preparing incident reports on daily basis and updating the knowledge base for known errors.
