Bangalore being the South central region I handle all the support function of IT both infrastructure and the various software applications. We have our in house developed application for warehouse management and customs related applications and customization and support of the same is my responsibility ably assisted by the regional IT Manager.
Lee & Muirhead handles the logistics of HP, IBM, APC, Cisco, Xerox, LSL and Technova to name a few.
For HP operations located across 19 locations in India, I ensure smooth functioning of Network, SAP & LWMS (warehouse management system from DHL) by following the relevant escalation matrix of HP for SAP and DHL for LWMS and other service providers like Airtel, BSNL for network infrastructure.
Each of these companies are connected online through VPNs. HP & IBM are connected directly through routers with dedicated IPLC link & lease line to their respective datacenters.
•Monitor & Maintain uptime of Cisco Routers and switches (2950) & administration.
•Implement, Maintain & Monitor of network connectivity links such as IPLC link, Leased lines and ISDN Lines. Network uptime thru network monitoring tools such as PRTG & WhatsUp.
•Maintain and Monitor Windows 2000 server, Citrix Thin client with Terminal servers, Terminal services policy, Citrix Linux based thin client installation & configuration.
•Remote Server administration (through Radmin, Netmeeting)
•Remote Support to HP users across 19 locations in India, installation & configuration of Mails & Application Software. Manage Users Accounts.
•Ensuring data safety through virus detection & its vaccination.
•Ensure a seamless delivery of business objectives. Manage day to day activity of mission critical applications and services, Vendor Management.
•To handle & lead a team of six engineers, delegate calls accordingly, ensure smooth operation of network, PCs & online applications.
•These activities along with System Maintenance, Performance Analysis, Security Management, Upgrade Management Failure analysis, Recovery Design, Recovery implementation and Testing
2. Client - DHL Worldwide Express
•Administration support, Installation, Upgradation & troubleshooting of LAN Network, Computers, Servers, Network Infrastructure & Printing Devices.
•Provide frontline end user support on all software applications utilized on the network.
•Determine needs and research hardware and software solutions for the client environment.
•Diagnose and repair all brands of personal computers, monitors and printers.
•Symantec Corporate Edition - Installation, configuration, and updating of virus definitions.
•To handle & lead a team of five engineers & one call coordinator, assign shifts, delegate calls accordingly, ensure smooth operation of network, PCs & online applications.
3. Client - Fosroc Chemicals Limited
•Corrective & preventive maintenance of IT infrastructure (hardware, software, networking).
•Ensuring Network & system availability.
•• Manage all IT resources which include hardware (PC’s, Servers), software (Windows 95, 98, ME, NT 4, 2000, Novell) and network hardware (Hubs, Switches).
•Daily back-ups and data recovery.
•Management of Users and Groups, keeping inventory of computers, IP address, Computer names, Vendor Supplied, Warranty etc.
•Daily helpdesk reports, Weekly call analysis, Monthly call analysis.
•To coordinate with various vendors, keep uptime of Computers under warranty.
