Leading the activities of the Compliance Department as HOF (Head of Function) with a dedicated team of eight professionals.
My role in the department includes but not limited to;
Ensuring internal & external Compliance of all financial transactions of the organization.
Ensuring the implementation & vigilant monitoring of DOA (Delegation of Authority Matrix) with regard to all payments. Providing timely feedbacks for any necessary changes required in the existing version to the stakeholders.
Conducting quarterly informal departmental appraisals for identifying the top talent and making the succession plan thereof. Ensuring the persistent development of talent via adequate in-house as well as external trainings.
Providing advisory services to all user departments pertaining to SOPs, Internal Controls, and Company Policies, Pre-Contract vetting & any other issues raised on as & when basis to enhance the level of efficiency involved in the processes.
Setting of yearly Departmental Objectives and ensure their Compliance throughout the year.
Contributing to the continuous improvement by providing constructive feedbacks to the stakeholders. Focusing on root cause of control deviations rather than payment query resolutions.
Providing assistance to IT infrastructure via multiple routes i.e. assuming a monitory role for identifying any loop holes in existing processes whereas an advisory role for placing additional controls where needed.
Reviewing MDM (Master Data Management) on quarterly basis.
Designing the FI (Vendor Invoices ) Workflow Approval Module in SAP and proposing changes regularly after its implementation.
Drafted Compliance Charter gained initial understanding of business / area processes, developed system notes & work programs, and on that basis drafted Payment Review Sheets.
Pre-Audit of all Financial Transactions. Areas include but are not limited to Revenue to Receivables, Procurement to Payables, Treasury, and Fixed Assets etc.
Review of Voucher Tracking System.
Managing a variety of stakeholders and their expectations through regular communications. These communications vary from Pre-Audit queries, informal advices, formal meetings etc.
Highlighting payment related control risk/weak areas to management and stakeholders on regular basis.
Helping organization in implementing/revision of SOP’s, revision of existing policies, Revision of Delegation of Authority Matrix (DOA), for effectiveness of Company’s Internal Controls.
Review of MDM (Master Data Management) on Quarterly basis.
Review of draft agreements made by Lucky Cement Limited. Ensured that the agreements are in accordance with applicable laws and regulations governing in Pakistan and LCL’s Risk exposure is covered.
Pre-Audit
Review and supervision of daily bank payments made by the company. Ensured that each payment was processed as per Company’s Policies and SOP’s. Reported Queries to Manager CAG and to the stakeholders.
Post Audit
Conducted quarterly stock, fixed asset counts, reconciled differences, and reported them to management if any;
Performed HR and Scrap Audits on quarterly basis.
Investigation/ Evaluation of any fraud risk red flags if appearing within the company on quarterly basis.
Prepared planning documents, performed analytical and substantive procedures in accordance with standard auditing and accounting practices. Prepared audit programs and Global Work Papers of KPMG Int.
Verified financials made by management and ensured that all disclosures, footnotes and policies are in accordance with laws and regulations, IAS and IFRS guidelines applicable in Pakistan and Internationally.
Audited various industry segments during my tenure at the firm.
Mentored and supervised team members .
Involved in special assignments during my articleship such as stock counts, cash counts and Company valuations etc.
Reported audit issues to those charged with governance as and when required.
