Roles & Responsibilities:
•Plans, Layout, Supervises, and inspects the work of Heavy Equipment mechanics, Garage attendants and helpers engaged in a wide variety of repair work on automobiles, man trucks, trailers, and cars.
•Monitoring the auto electricians, auto painters, auto body shop crews, battery repairers and repairers engaged transportation equipment repairers and maintenance activities.
•Monitoring the lubrication and servicing of transportation and garage attendants and other employees providing services for the shop.
•Instructs, advises, and assists subordinates on repair work.
•Diagnoses engine and other automobile trouble from drivers reports, vehicle repair records, the result of motor analyses, electric system test, and similar devices and tests and determine the type and extent of repair necessary.
•Determine the need for and order repair parts.
•Prepare shop sketches for modification the equipment.
•Estimates costs of shop work.
•Arrange for machine shop and welding work to be done.
•Plans and recommends preventive maintenance programs and design the necessary equipment records.
•Inspects shop equipment, machines and tools as to their condition, use, and operation.
•Prepare estimates of shop personnel and equipment needs.
•Sees that the shop is kept in a safe and clean condition and enforces safety precautions.
•Maintains shop regulatory and compliance records (Federal and State mandated
requirements i.e. smog program, alternative fuel sites, storm water).
•Diagnose trouble and mechanical failures in automotive equipment to determine the necessary repairs.
•Deal tactfully and effectively with other employees;
• Estimate automotive repair time and material costs;
•Schedule and supervise the work of employees engaged in automotive repair work;
•Utilize labor and materials economically;
•Design and prepare working sketches of equipment modifications;
•Devise improved servicing and repair procedures and methods;
•Maintain established operating and performance standards.

Roles & Responsibilities:
•Studied building plans and inspected structures to assess material and equipment needs, to establish the sequence of pipe installations, and to plan installation around obstructions such as electrical wiring.
•Installed pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, appliances such as dishwashers and water heaters, and fixtures such as sinks and toilets, using hand and power tools.
•Installed underground storm, sanitary and water piping systems and extend piping to connect fixtures and plumbing to these systems.
•Located and marked the position of pipe installations, connections, passage holes, and fixtures in structures, using measuring instruments such as rulers and levels.
•Measured, cut, threaded, and bent pipe to required angle, using hand and power tools or machines such as pipe cutters, pipe-threading machines, and pipe-bending machines.
•Assembled pipe sections, tubing and fittings, using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, or soldering, brazing and welding equipment.
•Repaired and maintained plumbing, replacing defective washers, replacing or mending broken pipes, and opening clogged drains.
•Filled pipes or plumbing fixtures with water or air and observed pressure gauges to detect and locate leaks.
•Maintain and repair general plumbing components to include toilets, urinals, faucets, hose bibs, and drains.
•Install, repair, or replace domestic hot and cold water lines.

•Lead troubleshooting efforts and repair steam, water, and gas distribution systems.
•Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
•Provide sketches and dimensions used by drafters to create plans for subcontractor work.
•Research catalogs and vendor services for complex and/or customized system retrofits.
•Interpret and apply mechanical and structural blueprints to plan plumbing repairs and modifications.
•Constructing and repairing various metal parts by welding them together.
•Installing Equipment and pipes such as lead pipes, valves and tank linings.
•Accurately examining and measuring work pieces for defects etc..
•Measuring work pieces with straightedges to ensure correct specification.
•Preheating pipes and work pieces, using hand torch.
•Constantly monitoring the fitting, burning and welding processes.
•Removing rough spot or loose metal from work pieces.
