Procurement Director at Mohamed Yousuf Naghi Motors
  • Saudi Arabia - Jeddah

• Responsible for all common major purchasing spend in the MYN group (http://mynaghi.com/english/index.php). This includes travel, engineering and construction, IT, facilities management, services and maintenance spends, as well as high spend projects and strategic contracts on need basis (annual spend of SAR 200+ million).
• From October 2019, I am also responsible for entire automotive real estate rental and FM (facility management) with the automotive real estate and facilities manager reporting into my role. Our responsibilities include all rental contracts negotiations and renewals, and handling major facilities management contracts and spending.
• Handling major CAPEX expansion plans for the group which includes new showrooms, major facility renovations, workshop equipment, new Corporate Identity implementations, new warehouses and logistics hub.
• Handling all major contracts for the automotive division (outsourced cleaning, labor, pantry services, spare parts and cars logistics, IT, scrap and old assets sales). The annual spend of these major contracts is SAR 40+ million. Also involved in implementation of cross-functional projects like Value Added Tax (VAT) roll out in the group.
• Managing a team of 5 direct reports and 4 indirect reports.

Head of Central Procurement at Tetra Pak Arabia Area

  • February 2012 to May 2015

• Responsible for setting up a new central buying function in Tetra Pak, Saudi Arab. I set up a new central procurement department from a scratch within eight months of joining. Apart from organization changes and hiring, this included setting up new policies, procedures, top management alignment, and target setting for the new department.
• Handled all Indirect Material and Services (IMS) buying, which included all factory indirect spend, facilities, HR services, marketing, travel, transport and logistics spend.
• Delivered savings of 2.6 million € in the first two years, out of a total spend of 55 million €.
• From July 2013 onwards, I was also Maintenance Repair and Operating Supplies (MRO) category leader for all three Tetra Pak factories in the Greater Middle East Region (Saudi Arab, Turkey and Pakistan). I implemented key global projects in all three factories.
• Experience of functional knowledge of SAP as purchasing head.

Dry Laundry Materials and Process Delivery Manager at Procter & Gamble

Responsible for all Dry laundry packaging material for Dammam Plant, Saudi Arabia, the
biggest P&G plant in the Middle East and Africa region. Dry laundry was the largest category
in the Arabian Peninsula market.
• Extensively worked with packaging suppliers in the region to improve their quality and
performance on our production lines.
• Responsible for all cost savings of packing material, new supplier qualifications, material
specifications changes, quality improvements, and all new initiatives and artwork changes.

Dammam Plant Supply Chain Cost Savings Manager at Procter & Gamble
  • Saudi Arabia - Khobar
  • August 2009 to November 2010

Led entire cost savings of the company in a special assignment to meet the challenges of the
economic crisis of 2008 and 2009. Responsible for the entire cost savings program and savings
results of Dammam plant, which is one of the biggest sites of Procter and Gamble in the region.
• Extensively used Lean Manufacturing (Value Stream Mapping) and Loss Analysis
methodology to drive bottom line cost savings and supply chain inventory reduction.
• Got exposure to the full supply chain operation of P&G Dammam.
• Delivered $ 34 million savings in a year vs. a target of $ 30 million.

Purchasing Department Manager, P&G Dammam and Jeddah plants at Procter & Gamble

  • January 2007 to July 2009

• Purchasing Department Manager for P&G Dammam and Jeddah plants (Saudi Arabia) from January 2007 till July 2009. Managed spending of over 130 million US dollars per year.
• Managed a team of two managers and twelve buyers for the two plants. Increased productivity of the department by over 30% in two years.
• Responsible for all indirect spending of the two plants. This included all capital buying (plant expansion, engineering services, machinery and equipment) as well as all expenses and services (plant contract labor, plant facilities services, operating suppliers, spare parts).
• Also responsible for the entire logistics purchases which included sea freight, land freight and warehouse purchases for the P&G Gulf region.
• Led factory Facilities Management (FM) spend pool sourcing for all the nineteen plants in Central Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa (CEEMEA) since June 2006. Implemented global Plant FM strategy in CEEMEA plants.

Purchasing Department Manager, P&G Pakistan at Procter & Gamble

As P&G Pakistan Purchasing Manager, I was owner of all purchasing systems, Standard
Operating Procedures, and internal controls in P&G Pakistan.
• Overall responsible for setting the direction, targets and deliverables of the purchasing
department including people management and career planning of five direct reports.
• Overall responsible for all company buying for Procter and Gamble, Pakistan (spend of USD
70 million).
• Rich experience in raw and pack (direct material) buying, logistics and plant capital and
expense buying.
• Authorized as one of the few P&G global commodity traders of fats and oils. Was authorized
to buy fats and oils up to $1 million directly.
Special Award 2006
• Awarded P&G Recognition Shares, the highest achievement award in P&G globally, for
delivering outstanding savings for the company in 2006. This was awarded on delivering
10% bottom line savings in commodity spend (1.3 million USD savings).
The recognition shares award is given globally by P&G to the top 2% contributors to P&G
business.
