As the Senior Entomologist at Kaufmann Enterprises Pvt Ltd, I played a pivotal role in managing and overseeing various aspects of pest control operations. My responsibilities included identifying diferent types of pests commonly found in urban areas, monitoring pest populations and trends, and developing integrated pest management (IPM) plans. One of my key roles was to provide training to pest control technicians and staf on pest biology, control methods, and safety protocols. I also consulted with clients to assess their pest control needs and developed customized pest management plans to address their specific requirements. Ensuring compliance with regulations regarding pest control and pesticide use was a crucial part of my role. Supervising and mentoring junior entomologists and pest control technicians, maintaining accurate records of pest control activities, and providing regular reports to management and clients were all part of my responsibilities. Additionally, I provided excellent customer service by addressing client concerns and providing timely and efective pest control solutions, ensuring that pest control services met company standards and customer expectations.

As a Postdoctoral Researcher at Andong National University, my role was deeply entrenched in the molecular intricacies of entomological research. My primary focus was on the expression and purification of recombinant proteins within Escherichia coli systems. I honed techniques for inducing protein expression with IPTG and L-arabinose, followed by afinity chromatography for purification and dialysis tubing for renaturation. A significant aspect of my work involved validating the purity and functionality of these proteins through Coomassie staining and western bloting, alongside characterizing enzyme kinetics based on the Michaelis-Menten equation. In exploring the immune signaling pathways of insects, I uncovered activation mechanisms within the Toll pathway that trigger cellular immune responses in Spodoptera exigua. Employing RNA interference, I knocked down genes in the Toll pathway to study the subsequent efects on immune function. Detailed observations of gene expression complemented this work through RT-PCR and qRT-PCR, as well as assessments of phospholipase A2 activity, nodulation, phenol oxidase activity, and hemocyte spreading, contributing to a broader understanding of insect immunology.
