Managing and leading a group of engineers and technicians (~15 employees) to create and control equipment maintenance programs and reduce breakdowns.
1- Establishing reliability based planned preventive maintenance (PPM) for all terminal equipment.
2- Analyzing equipment breakdowns to create counter measures and develop improvement plans.
3- Analyze, report, and find solutions to improve maintenance department performance.
4- Using condition based maintenance technologies like IR, oil analysis, vibration, visual inspection, and ultrasound to monitor the condition of different equipment components. Coordinate with maintenance planning section to schedule the required repairs.
5- Support decision making with all required technical specs and information.
6- Using Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to investigate and eliminate all equipment failures and accidents. Execute necessary repairs and modifications to eliminate repeated breakdowns.
7- Executing lean Six Sigma projects (DMAIC) and A3 projects (PDCA) to enhance the performance of maintenance department to increase equipment availability, reduce down time, utilize manpower, reduce maintenance cost, and decrease mean time to repair.
8- Applying TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) to increase OEE (overall equipment effectiveness).
9- Establishing maintenance related SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) for all maintenance activities and procedures.
10- Contacting all equipment OEM to discuss technical solutions for the failures and challenges we face that affects equipment performance and equipment maintenance.
11- Continuous research and developments to select most suitable materials and procedures to perform different maintenance activities such as lubricant types, and lubrication methods.
1- Manage a team of planning and scheduling engineers.
2- Maintain all maintenance projects execution in time and within budget.
3- Coordinate with operations department the required equipment for maintenance according to the maintenance plans.
4- Create/Calculate all maintenance department KPIs and ensure full compliance with targets.
5- Follow up and maintain the CMMS data (IFS) and utilize all its modules in our maintenance processes.
6- Ensure the reliability and efficiency of the planed preventive maintenance program routine.
7- Contribute in calculation and monitoring the department budget and RQF. Ensure full compliance.
8- Forecasting materials and spare parts requirements every year according to maintenance requirements and handle requirements with stores.
9- Follow up and solve issues related to purchase orders with supply chain department.
10- Monitor the inventory levels and storage conditions and take the necessary actions.
1- Monitoring the condition of equipment.
2- Developing maintenance plans to maintain equipment performance according to targets.
3- Introduce new technologies in equipment condition monitoring.
4- Analyze equipment breakdowns and introducing counter measures.
Same responsibility as the previous position with increased management and reporting responsibilities.
As a maintenance mechanical engineer (Shift Engineer), I was leading a group of technicians and engineers to execute all types of maintenance (planned and non-planned maintenance) (CM, PPM, and PdM) for all of terminal equipment. Our target was to minimize breakdown time, keeping equipment in the best productive condition with least defects and cost. Order required spare parts, and report all maintenance activities through our CMMS.
