•Search for and bid on new projects
•Determine the client’s goals and requirements for the project
•Consider how the space will be used and how people will move through the space
•Sketch preliminary design plans, including electrical and partition layouts
•Specify materials and furnishings, such as lighting, furniture, wall finishes, flooring, and plumbing fixtures
•Create a timeline for the interior design project and estimate project costs
•Place orders for materials and oversee the installation of the design elements
•Oversee construction and coordinate with general building contractors to implement the plans and specifications for the project
•Visit the site after the project is complete, to ensure that the client is satisfied
Responsible for all the steps needed to deliver the clients’ needs under tight
deadlines. This includes but not limited to:
• Design brand artworks and help with business branding for the clients.
• Gather and study all information and materials needed to help plan the design concept and accomplish the project.
• Design rough layout of the artwork to illustrate the concept and provide the client with detailed arrangements about the design size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts.
• Finalise the design by implementing the typesetting, printing out, and purchasing the necessary materials from vendors.
• Complete the projects by coordinating with various stakeholders such as external agencies, art services and printers.
• Plan and appropriately allocate interior spaces for buildings according to the stakeholders’ requirements, while adhering with architectural principles for different kinds of space usages.
• Develop furniture designs which are functional, appealing and appropriate for the space through choosing the suitable materials and colours which meets the AKF building standards.
• Responsible for both architectural and projects executions and various related tasks.
• Prepare the B.O.Q and technical study including all proper work and specification in order to achieve the design I am assigned to.
• Supervise the work implementation on-site and ensure the specifications, quality and measurements are matching with the project requirements and plan.
• Assist with planning and analysis of conceptual design issues and pre-construction activities.
• Coordinate and review of the development of architectural and engineering construction drawings and bid documents.
• Liaise between client and the design and construction stakeholders.
• Monitor construction budget and schedule, including updating and maintaining web-based project control.
• Assemble and review materials for project draw packages.
• Review and report on the construction progress and construction-related issues such as field reports and site visits.
• Manage the project closure process to ensure successful completion as well as meeting the deadline.
• Draft shop drawing and as-built drawings in the end of each phase of construction process.
• Attend client meetings and assist with determining the project requirements.
• Assist the project manager with the drafting and issuing project proposals, RFP’s, budgets and preliminary schedules.
• Track the progress and quality of work being performed by design disciplines.
• Effectively and accurately communicate the relevant project information to the client and project members.
• Review field inspection reports provided by consultants throughout the lifecycle of the project.
• Assist the project manager with the review of Contractor quotations to ensure fair and reasonable fees and prices are recommended for approval.
• Prepare scale drawings.
• Consult with clients to determine functional or spatial requirements of structures.
• Plan the projects layout.
• Prepare information regarding design, structure specifications, materials, colour, equipment, estimated costs and construction time.
• Integrate engineering elements into unified architectural designs.
• Guide my colleagues to follow certain activities in preparing drawings and specifications documents.
• Conduct periodic on-site visits.
