Oversee the repair and maintenance operation for all organization vehicles and generators. Maintain vehicles and generators services records to ensure compliance with manufacturers' servicing schedules and organization protocol. Create/update fleet policy and procedures. Determine what fleet processes should be outsourced, to which suppliers they should be awarded, and to act as primary contact with all suppliers. Plan/develop and execute a vehicle and equipment replacement schedule. Review/process purchase requisitions for parts and supplies; review vendor bid responses for tools, equipment, parts and services; monitor expenditures. Review financial/budget reports and prepare yearly operating budget. Identify/coordinate training needs for garage employees. Deal with various subcontractors and suppliers and maintain a consistent and ethical approach to their utilization. Monitor monthly fuel consumption of mission vehicles and generator as per manufacturer standard.
Inspect and diagnose diesel, gas, electric automotive equipment, components and systems to determine necessary repairs. Make minor-to-major repairs to any automotive equipment. Install and repair special equipment. Operate and maintain tools, machinery and computerized systems used in the maintenance and repair of equipment. Troubleshoot and repair systems and components. Estimate the cost of materials and labor for work orders; and keep simple records and prepare reports as necessary. Train and provide work instruction to Assistant Automotive Technicians or Attendants. Discuss the problem with supervisor and co-workers, and work together to find out the salutations.
Repairs, maintains and tests vehicle engines related problems and other mechanical units such as a Transmission, Differentials, Drive-train and Suspensions. Road test to verify repair was performed. Disassembles unit and inspects parts for wear, using micrometers, Vernier calipers, and thickness gauges. Diagnose, repair and replace OBD2 related issue by using Scan tools and Digital Multi-meters.
