PHD at Ifremer

The effects of short and long-term contamination on zebra-fish embryos and adults, using persistent organic pollutants (PCB and PAH)”. It is divided into two parts: The first part is based on contaminating juveniles and adults zebra-fish with a mixture of PCB (I did multiple long-term trophic contamination using two distinct mixtures) My main objectives were to study the bio-accumulation of PCB’s over time and generations, its effect on growth, reprotoxicity, and endocrine disturbance. This section also contains the first individual tagged zebra-fish protocol for the identification of fish during contamination (or other experimental procedures). This part will be valued by two publications and a communication for the protocol of the tagged zebra-fish. I already have an accepted publication in aquatic toxicology as a first author.
The second part of my PHD was about evaluating the toxicity of 4 PAH using a sediment contact assay with zebra-fish and medaka embryos. These fish embryos tests respect REACh regulation; this section will also be valued by another publication. During this period, we were establishing a novel test for screening drug and hydrophobic pollutants
