Providing construction and operations support to Education Program in UNICEF in managing, operationalizing and upgrading the educational facilities in camps, specific responsibilities includes but not limited to the following:
- Construction of new sites:
Managing and planning the project life cycle of the construction projects (Feasibility Study to Closing). Prepare and establish bidding documents, overseeing all different engineering processes in a construction project,
provide the technical knowledge to construction projects, such as cost control, cost estimation, and management of project schedules, change orders, prepare LTA (Long Terms Agreement) forms and purchase orders, leading the work with all parties involved in a construction project
- Operations of schools and educational facilities: Managing from site level procurement of supplies, materials, equipment in addition to inventory management, manage schools sanitation,
manage the use of school facilities (classrooms, WASH units, offices), coordinate school safety plans with the operational contractor.
- Maintenance of schools facilities and rehabilitation:
Prepare detailed and comprehensive maintenance plan for all existing education facilities, apply quality control and safety procedures on site for maintenance and rehabilitation works that take place by supervising contractor(s)’ performance and reporting any discrepancies of quality and quantity of work, managing budgets of tasks, ensuring, creating maintenance procedures for schools’ facilities.
-Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor the assigned engineering projects.
-Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications.
-Interact daily with the clients to interpret their needs and requirements and represent them in the field
Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel’s performance) and report regularly on project status.
-Assign responsibilities and mentor project team
Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support.
-Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
*Construction Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Determines engineering requirements by conducting inspections and analytical tests.
- Resolves engineering problems by collecting and analyzing information; researching, analyzing, adapting, recommending solutions; preparing drawings; resolving design integration issues; performing installations.
- Working on shelter construction project, and following up with the laborers, suppliers, and other teams.
- Working on Shelter maintenance project with coordination with UNHCR, and reporting all maintained shelters on weekly and monthly basis.
- Provides direction, assigns tasks and gives instructions to daily labors and/or contractors and evaluates individual performance.
- Monitors the progress of activities of assigned daily labor and or contractors and ensures they are implemented conform planning and quality standards.
* Workshop Technical Assistant Responsibilities:
- Ensure all the received materials are according to the requested specification and quantities.
- Monitoring of stock levels for main items required by the shelter Engineering teams and flagging low levels if needed.
- Managing the process of delivering and handing over all stock and tools to staff.
- Supporting other units whenever requested and needed, by preparing BOQs, designs, and through the implementation phases.
- Ensure all the received materials are according to the requested specification and quantities.
- Monitoring of stock levels for main items required by the shelter Engineering teams and flagging low levels if needed.
- Managing the process of delivering and handing over all stock and tools to staff.
- Supporting other units whenever requested and needed, by preparing BOQs, designs, and through the implementation phases.
I was responsible for implementation a residential building.
Key of responsibilities :
*Acting as the main technical adviser on a construction site for subcontractors, crafts people and operatives.
*Checking plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculations.
*Ensuring that all materials used and work performed are as per specifications.
*Overseeing the selection and requisition of materials and plant.
*Agreeing a price for materials and making cost-effective solutions and proposals for the intended project.
*Managing, monitoring and interpreting the contract design documents supplied by the client.
*Liaising with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project.
* From September the 15th, 2011 till January, 2016 Bachelor of science degree in Civil engineering from Hashemite University, Zarqa/Jordan with GPA ( 2.73 out of 4 ) rated as ( Good ). * Secondary Certificate at 2011 from King Abdullah Second School for Excellence , Zarqa/Jordan , with average 95.5%.
