2 AREA IN-CHARGE (CEMENT MILL/PACKING PLANT): (From Feb 1993 to present)
• Working in Maintenance Department of Attock Cement Pakistan Limited (ISO 9001:2000 & 14001:2004 Certified) . ACPL is one of the best cement producing company in Pakistan with brand
name as "FALCON CEMENT".
RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.1 Attending daily running operational faults of assigned area affecting continuous plant
operation pointed out by the operational staff.
1.2 Scheduling/ organizing the execution of planned maintenance activities and maintaining
record of scheduled implementation.
1.3 Coordination with the Stores department to check stock levels related to assigned area.
1.4 To issue Indent requisition to planning section for the procurement of urgently or routinely
needed spare parts of the area.
1.5 Inspection of assigned area related spares on receipt at Stores department in co-ordination with Preventive Maintenance/Inspection Incharge.
1.6 Technical correspondence whenever required with outside agencies with the consent of
M (Mech) and through proper channel.
1.7 To study Mechanical department daily shift report and take actions thereon.
1.8 Detail visit to the assigned area in the morning and minute checkup.
1.9 Discussion with the subordinates about the current problems, remedies and future
planning.
1.10 To Plan and execute the jobs pointed out by the preventive maintenance sections through Job cards and return the Job cards after completion of job to preventive
maintenance section.
1.11 To ensure smooth and uninterrupted plant operation with proper maintenance by using
minimum manpower and at lowest possible cost.
1.12 To attend daily production/ coordination meeting and ensure implementation of decisions
taken at the meeting.
1 AS MAINTENANCE SECTION HEAD: (From February 2009 to date)
Working in Maintenance Department of Saudi Cement Company (Process Plant, 10-Mtons/yr Production)
SCC is one of the best cement companies in Saudi Arabia.
RESPONSIBILITIES: o To ensure efficient and durable operation of all mechanical equipments and machinery of the plant with utmost reliability.
o To review the log sheets/shift register and physically check the work performed on previous
day/night, on daily basis.
o To ensure coordinated, efficient and effective performance of work in each work area through respective area in charge.
o To take daily round of the plant with special attention to the problem areas.
o To attend daily production meeting.
o To ensure preparation/approval and implementation of annual maintenance schedules for all the relevant mechanical equipment.
o To regularly review and improve preventive and predictive maintenance systems covering all the mechanical equipment.
o To ensure timely preparation of indents for mechanical machinery and spares parts based on past consumption pattern and follow-up of subsequent purchase process with the commercial department to maintain adequate stock levels.
o To study the comparative statements received from different suppliers through Commercial
department and recommend suitable suppliers on technical and financial grounds.
o To suggest further improvement and modifications in the existing equipment/ setup, drawings, and materials and in technologies like welding, casting of parts, etc. to minimize the machinery/equipment down time.
o To keep close coordination with the operational staff & mechanical staff supervisors after normal duty
hours through phone to monitor plant performance and to ensure completion in-hand jobs efficiently and within minimum possible time period.
o To plan and ensure indigenous development of mechanical components.
o To improve the efficiency of spare parts with rebuilding technique.
o To ensure efficient and durable working of the utilities like compressors and blowers.
o To ensure timely initiation of requests for contractual jobs and negotiate with the contractors to bring the rates down, commensurate with the cost estimates.
o To ensure operation of all mechanical equipment and machinery of the Plant with maximum
efficiency and reliability, during Plant operations.
o To ensure effective and coherent working in all work areas through respective area incharge.
o To review of vibration levels for critical equipment like I.D. fan, E.P. fan, vent fan, main drives etc.

o To ensure regular lab testing of oils from major gear boxes at the plant and their subsequent
recording and trend monitoring.
o To carry out a comparison, on quarterly basis, of the vibration results from the installed, portable and contracted vibration sensors/ analysis.
o Coordination with outside agencies/contractors for special types of mechanical (repair/maintenance) and inspection jobs or arrangement of manpower during shutdowns and breakdowns.
o To coordinate weekly between the execution & inspection sections for the issuance of work orders or problems pointed out by inspectors and to review the work status at the end of each month.
o To review the spare parts status on monthly basis.
o To regularly monitor the progress of all on going departmental projects with a view to avoid/resolve
hold-ups.
o To attend all safety meetings and ensure that all safety requirements of mechanical equipment and department personnel are met according to the laid down safety policy and procedures.
o To attend all Quality Council (Works) meetings and action all relevant points.
o To meet and maintain all ISO 9000 QMS documentation and ensure effective implementation of the system.
1.13 Preparation of maintenance reports and proper record keeping.
1.14 To arrange plant spares from workshop or outside agencies through Manager
Mechanical / Preventive maintenance & Inspection section.
1.15 Issuance of tender inquiries for the identified jobs to the contractors and their subsequent
follow up.
1.16 Planning and execution of new and modification jobs in the existing system for reducing the energy consumption and betterment of plant.
1.17 To modify maintenance procedures as and when required in order to reducing downtime and manpower utilization with the consent of Manager Mechanical.
1.18 To ensure proper housekeeping of the assigned area.
1.19 Accomplishment of duties outside the assigned area.
1.20 To adopt safety procedures to avoid any minor/ major mishap
