I’m, Thi.Cho.Jaisankar, an engineering graduate in Chemical Technology with NACE Level - 2 Coating Inspector Certification & IRCA (International Register of Certified Auditors) Certified Internal Auditor Certification, having 20+ years of experience in several manufacturing industries; projects of Oil/Gas/Petro-chemical/Power/Chemical related industries, in which 10+ years of experience in Industrial Coatings & Coating Inspection works in Saudi Arabia in Tank forms, Structural, Piping, and vessels.

Major projects handled as Coating Inspector & Coating Advisor:

YASREF Project - EPC 1 (De-Coker Unit):
Inspection of Coating, Tap wrapping, Holiday Testing & Insulation works at site on UG&AG Piping, Vessels, Structures, and Tanks.
Saudi Aramco - Wasit Gas Program Project:
Inspection of Coating & Insulation works on Pipes & fabricated Spools.
SATORP- JERP Project:
Inspection of Coating & Insulation works on Pipes & fabricated Spools
Riyadh Power Plant (PP10):
This is a project of Saudi Electricity Company, in which, for the entire turbine buildings steel structures are coated with fire protective intumescent coatings with Ameron Paints product called STEEL GUARD FM 560.
Manifa Causeway Project:
All the concrete structures used for causeway bridges are coated with Coal tar Epoxy Coatings with Ameron Paints Products called AM 325 & AM 78 HBB.
Jubail Royal Commission Works (Sadaf - Sharq - Kemya - Saudi Kayan):
Renovation coating works for the entire structural steels of plants, pipe rack structures, and tanks internal & external areas in tank forms are coated with Epoxies, High build epoxies, Polyurethane Topcoats, Novolac and Phenolic Epoxies etc.,
Hawiya Gas Plant, WIPS (Water Injection Pump Station) Projects:
Pipe line coating works on Carbon Steel & Stainless Steel Pipe lines are done with Epoxies and High Temp Coatings, and tanks internal & external areas in tank forms are coated with Epoxies, High build epoxies, Polyurethane Topcoats, Novolac and Phenolic Epoxies etc.,

Along with the responsibilities of coating activities mentioned below, in addition, assigned to the inspections of hot/cold/acoustic/electric tracing insulation of pipes& equipments using mineral wool blankets, Calcium silicate board, Cellular glass, fiber glass, foam injection, LRB mattress with moisture barrier, and pipe section with different thickness of weather protection as per Saudi Aramco standards.

And concentrating on the followings:

*Inspection of the material received at site is in line with project specification.
*Review of subcontractor’s method statement and constructability plan.
*Ensure the correct construction drawings and materials are in place prior to start of work.
*Ensure material storage and material test certificates are in accordance with project requirement.
*Ensure work release certificate is received from piping/equipment erection Department.
*Liaise with QA/QC personnel for surveillance inspection for ongoing works.
*Provide technical advice to the subcontractor supervisory personnel.
*Inspection of the raw materials and confirming their non deviation from the specification.
*Performing all physical tests as per NACE standard and assuring optimum quality of the end product.
*Review and monitor implementation of the inspection checklist.
*Installed a system of monitoring and reporting in compliance with ISO to enhance the product quality & productivity.
*Reduced consumption of raw materials to meet the challenges from the suppliers from Far East.
*Reduced generation of rejection.
*Provided valuable technical support in the form of trouble shooting.

 Responsible for Quality Control Inspection works in Blasting & Coating yard at JERP Lay down area, which includes the following activities.
 Monitoring & maintaining of environmental condition records and Equipment Calibration Records (ECR),
 Surface preparation Inspections for removal of rough welds; weld splatters; grinding & filing for surface imperfections etc., & approval for blasting.
 Measurement of Anchor Profile, Tests for finding out the levels of contaminations of Chloride, Nitrate, Sulfate and pH on daily basis,
 Verification of Isometric Drawings for conforming the coating system to be applied & approval for painting,
 Monitoring & controlling the on process application of painting activities by measuring wet film thickness to achieve the required dry film thickness,
 Offering Client Inspection for dry film thickness, solvent rubbing test for curing, cross hatch & ‘X’ cut-tape test for adhesion on each and every layer of coatings,
 Documentation of Inspection Checklists & Test Reports for client’s approval,
 Preparation of documents and arrangements of approval for shipping the coated spools and random lengths to the construction site, etc.,
