Achievements:
• Work in close coordination with senior personnel, supervise activities of the Legal Department and submit detailed reports to the Managing Director for review and recommendation.
• Responsible for comprehensive assessment of company policy to verify compliance with corporate and labor laws, and safeguard the company from legal consequences on account of non-compliance, misappropriation or fraud.
• Extend legal support to handle strategic, financial, statutory compliance and operational risks.

Key Responsibilities:
Corporate Advisory
• Evaluate business policy proposals of the company, explain the legal and statutory repercussions of policy decisions to the management and suggest appropriate modifications to plans and documents to ensure compliance with business / corporate laws of the region.
• Coordinate with external legal advisors and internal departments in managing legal cases and provide precise advice on tackling legal clauses and presenting evidence as required.
• Review tender documents, examine compliance with legal laws and ensure effective risk identification, assessment and mitigation.
• Support the management with required legal advice and services in dealing with external entities and third parties including government departments, vendors, service providers and customers and provide guidelines to manage reputational and credit risks.
• Interpret the provisions of law and advise the management on conducting business operations within the relevant statutory framework with particular focus on legislative interpretation and document submission.
• Maintain updates and study changing legislation in business and formally communicate modifications in law to internal departments in order to avoid legal challenges, penalties and fines.
• Study business proposals and contract documents to ascertain the legal consequences of non-compliance and dishonor of contractual obligations, research legal clauses and sections applied in the industry and recommend reliable action plans to the management for contract renewals and commencement of operations (in case of business expansion).
Legal Support
• Examine compliance of all internal processes & systems with applicable legal and statutory requirements in collaboration with the compliance officer and HR team and supervise the preparation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) in the prescribed format.
• Work with the HR department to manage employee separation activities, calculate and process severance pay, handle disputes in case of hostile termination and ensure timely completion of employee exit activities.
• Liaise with lawyers and counsels to enable conclusion of pending court matters, estimate legal inputs, financial resources and time required to conclude such cases and recommend settlement options to the management for amicable closure.
• Support the procurement team in contract negotiations, provide legal inputs and participate in negotiations with vendors, suppliers and other service providers.
• Monitor the company’s existing compliance framework by developing and implementing compliance checklists and advising management on the compliance status of various key processes.
• Prepare monthly departmental reports and brief the executive management committee on various legal matters impacting company operations.
