My Scope of Work as an Mechanical engineer are :

Key Responsibilities:

HVAC Design:

1.Heat load calculation for building using HAP, E20 Software. Design and drafting, estimation of Hvac, chilled water piping system

2.Pump head loss calculation for pump selection and ESP Calculation for fan selection.

3.Ventilation criteria and calculation for smoke extract system, makeup air, car parking, lift and staircase pressurization.

4.Classification and selection of air handlers, Pump, Fan coil unit, Chiller, Cooling tower, Control Valve etc...

5.Duct system design and calculation using duct sizer software.

6.Chilled water piping design and calculation using pipe sizer software.

7.Involvement and collaboration of architects, developers, building owners and consulting engineers in regards to HVAC design

8.Working knowledge of various building services design codes such as British Standards, ASHRAE, and NFPA.

Fire Fighting Design:

Design and drafting, estimation of fire protection piping system

9.Working knowledge of NFPA Design codes such as NFPA 10, NFPA 13, NFPA 14, NFPA 15, NFPA 16, NFPA 20, NFPA 22, NFPA 24, NFPA 70, NFPA 72, NFPA 110, NFPA 2001 And UAE Fire Code.

10.Design and selection of Fire Extinguishers, Sprinkler system, Wet riser & Dry riser system - Cabinet system

11.Design and selection of Fire pump system, Deluge foam system, FM200 system / Novec 1230 / Inert gas system.

12.Design and selection of Fire Alarm system, Emergency lighting system, Voice evacuation and public address system.

13.Perform sprinkler flow calculation, pipe sizing calculation, sprinkler coverage distance.

14.Perform pump head calculations, pump flow calculations, pump room analysis, hydraulic calculation, pipe sizing calculation.

plumbing dsign:

Design and drafting, estimation of plumbing and water supply system

1.Drainage system design, drainage pipe size calculation as per IPC standard.

2.Drainage vent pipe sizing calculation as per international plumbing code

3.Combined storm-water system and sanitary drainage system design and pipe sizing

4.Domestic hot and cold water supply system design, Pipe sizing as per IPC standard

5.Water supply demand (GPM) calculation, plumbing system design as per IPC standard


6.Water tank size, pump head calculation

My Scope of Work as an MEP Engineer/coordinator are :

• Reviewing of Shop drawings, Material-Technical Submittal, prequalifications, the method of statements(MOS), inspection test plan (ITP), from the sub-contractor before consultant review.

• Inspect the installation of MEP works at site as per the approved shop drawing.

• Making Coordination with different subcontractors to complete the work most efficiently and ensure client satisfaction.

• Closing the Client/consultant SOR/NCR's in coordination with Management Representative.

• Coordinate with MEP Sub-contractor to provide MEP Clearances in time for civil & structural works.

• Provide temporary power supply in the site as per the requirements and project progress

• Coordinating with the Testing team, Suppliers, sub-contractors for completing the testing and commissioning tasks as per approved ITP and method statement as per project progress.

• Arrange coordination meeting between MEP subcontractors with Main contractor to sort out the important issues.

• Preparation of tracking logs of ATP’S, WIR, MVR, SOR, NCR, RFI.

• Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and Site Observation Reports (SOR), for the
Activities which are deviated from the Contract Specification or Employer Requirement.

• Coordinate with civil team to provide scaffolding for Mep subcontractor to install their high level mep services.

• Coordinate with quantity surveyor to prepare the final payments for Mep and other subcontractors.

• Doing snagging and also follow up the close out of client/consultant snags.

• Attend sites walks weekly with client and consultants and Analysed problems and recommended a solution as per site conditions.

• Attend technical and weekly progress meeting with client and consultants.

• Reviewing and approving all MEP As-built drawings.

• Liaise with Document Control for records management.

• Coordinate with Mep sub-contractor & supplier to get the spare parts, warranty certificates, operations and maintenance manuals and handover it to the End-user as per contract
