Key Result Areas:
•Lead a team of Quality, Safety & Environmental professionals to ensure adherence to distinct and actionable behavioural change strategies that are appropriate for company staff, contractors and third parties, with a view to reducing HSE incidents and other issues that can affect public and staff safety.
•Ensure adherence to company HSE plan at all work sites and operations.
•Facilitated a safety culture transformation from reactive to proactive by effectively influencing key stakeholders of the organization resulting in significant reduction on TRIR for the organization.
•Develop and implement the HSE & Process Safety systems, plans and objectives in line with the corporate strategy to ensure vertical alignment and horizontal integration with other Departments.
•Coordinated to ensure regulatory compliance all environmental studies like Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), baseline studies, evaluation studies, Environmental monitoring, Environmental audits, point sources registration to ensure operational continuity of all projects and work sites. Ensured all effluent, radiation, permits licences are in place as per company well drilling plan.
•Maintain cordial working relations with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies.
•Assure regulatory compliance of all facilities, conduct EHS relevant operations in compliance with applicable laws, statutory regulations and accepted practices for health, safety, and environmental protection. Status reporting of the same to top management as per a prescribed schedule.
•Developed and implemented safety awareness communications between workers and management resulting in increased hazard awareness by entire workforce.
•Completed comprehensive facility safety audits and developed action plans to address gaps at company worksites. Developed audit and inspection schedule for all facilities. Ensure adherence to the same.
•Implemented web based QHSE system to ensure real time data, PDCA application, tracking to closure, visibility of company QHSE performance.
•Restructured behaviour-based system to include categorization for observations, ensured focus and prioritization for high percentage categories.
•Monitoring yearly budget and take approval for Capital Investment with justification for ensuring Safety & Health of employees and environmental protection.
•Identified training requirements for company staff related to HSE and developed a training matrix and schedule to ensure the company staff are trained and skilled.
•Conduct regular site visits, and inspections, monitoring site HSE management and performance to ensure effective implementation and maintenance of the HSE Management Plan/System at work sites and facilities.
•Lead the development and implementation of HSE campaigns and initiatives to ensure company HSE culture is disseminated to all employees and contract staff.
•Ensure immediate reporting and responding to HSE incidents using the established emergency communication channels and protocols, to minimize damages as much as possible.
•Lead investigations of reportable HSSE incidents, to contribute to the identification of root causes and provide recommendations for corrective and preventive actions.
•Revamped emergency response protocols for company office and site locations. Developed drill schedule to ensure effectiveness and continual improvement of strategies.
•Implemented reporting dashboard for top management after ensuring standardization of reporting from work sites.
