• Act as deputy to the Lead Piping Engineer, Single point responsibility for all piping design related queries. Organise, assign and control discipline staff, such that work is progressed efficiently without compromising on quality.
• Execute discipline detailed design input to engineering projects & technical support studies as requested.
• Check piping & equipment layout with respect to P&ID, Piping design basis, Operation, Maintenance requirement. Check all piping deliverable to ensure adherence with Bechtel quality policy.
• Ensure effective communication and interface definition between all disciplines for design development, review and check processes.

• Lead and manage team of piping engineers at FPSO topsides engineering office to monitor and expedite the engineering work to ensure timely delivery of deliverables. Design must meet regulatory, class, client and corporate requirements.
• Collaborate with EPC contractor and other discipline engineers to identify and resolve design issues. Facilitate alignment on scope interfaces with other elements as well as with existing facilities within piping discipline
• Participate in key design reviews such as HAZOP, Layout, model reviews. Support procurement activities through engineering requirements for purchasing and vendor data review. Maintains, Controls and monitors Piping Quality Assurance System based on Samsung quality system
• Manage piping discipline priorities to receive timely input from other disciplines thereby facilitating the project deliverable schedule.
• Preparation of various procedures like hydro test, PWHT, Chemical cleaning, insulation etc.

• Prepare/Review project piping material specification, piping design standards, technical design instructions and discipline work practices / procedures and ensure they are produced to the correct level of quality and in accordance with the project plans
• Assemble and supervise a piping engineering group capable of executing a project. Create project piping engineering organisation chart, including a specification for the various roles and responsibilities defined. Compile / develop plans for the production and issuing of the piping deliverables
• Undertake all matters related to planning, progressing, reporting, manpower, man-hour and general administration

• Controls and authorises piping discipline activities & deliverables to ensure Completion of safe and operable design in accordance with project requirements and codes. Reviews job scope and provides estimates. Prepares detailed schedules for applicable piping activities. Ensures the distribution of technical data and piping work instruction within group.
• Prepare/review equipment layout and piping routing. Route critical lines in coordination with stress. Review and approves all relevant vendor data.
• Participates in engineering co-ordination & progress meetings. Ensures compliance with prescribed quality plan and participates in quality assurance audits

• Check piping & equipment layout with respect to P&ID, Piping design basis, Operation, Maintenance requirement. Check all piping deliverable to ensure adherence with Bechtel quality policy.
• Ensure effective communication and interface definition between all disciplines for design development, review and check processes

• Prepare Individual Design Plan at start of project & Assists the Lead Piping Engineer in the management of Piping Group’s day to day activities / deliverables. Prepares Scope of Work (SOW), Work Demarcation Table, Work Schedule and Man-hour Estimation for the above mentioned purpose.
• Prepares the execution plan for piping design and engineering with the Lead Piping Engineer. Layout & Modelling of piping & equipment routine, Finalisation Equipment nozzle orientation, Preparation of stress package & resolve queries by other disciplines & model review comments.

• Oversee Piping bulk material aspects, bulk take-offs, quantification & allocation in material management system
• Design and review piping and equipment layout documents, drawings and 3D models with consideration to all relevant disciplines
• Effectively co-ordinate piping engineering activities with the project/ Operation/Maintenance group. Attend and contribute to design / construction reviews.

• Carry out preliminary, basic, and detailed piping engineering studies and produce associated deliverables, e.g. MTOs, valve datasheets, isometrics, piping plans, etc. Issue piping engineering deliverables to ensure technical quality.
• Prepare various design deliverables and reports e.g. PFD/P&ID, wall thickness calculation, Pressure drop calculation etc.
