Member of the consulting team delivering at Accenture
  • United Kingdom - London
  • November 2006 to March 2008

Accenture: November 2006 to March 31 2008: Member of the consulting team delivering: ♦ Business Technology Analysis
♦ Accenture Technology Consulting: Data Centre Technology and Operations Practice
o Client: Sainsbury plc.
* The TU Brand logistics and warehousing was outsourced this added extra overheads and cost, delays were occurring and stock management was not accurate
* A proposal to change the I.T. infrastructure was recommended based on the Oracle Retail Warehouse Management System
o Client: HMRC.
* The PAYE browser upgrade was failing and I was part of the team responsible for pushing forward Change Requests; update the project plans and daily work stream reports. My work with EMC helped to work out what storage was allocated in phase 1 from previous deliverables and to estimate what would be required in phase 2. This was done creating a dashboard
♦ EMC Infrastructure Consulting: I T Service Management Practice
♦ Storage management, ITIL service management, server consolidation, data centre consolidation and disaster recovery solutions
♦ Consultancy, from pre-sales to business consultancy in data centre strategy, storage strategy, server and storage consolidation, ITIL service management and processes
o Client: Fujitsu Services.
* The storage was being allocated to projects in a sporadic manner and this meant there was no clear view of the As-is storage estate and the charge back mechanism was failing
* A complete review was done to see what processes were in place to allocate storage; what toolset was used to discover, allocate and manage the storage; what skills, attributes, knowledge and experience did the storage team have
♦ Discovery & analysis of the storage environment
o Client: Home Office.
* The storage environment was failing and EMC Consulting was asked to conduct interviews on-site to understand the failures. This enabled the team to get a clear picture
* Recommended improvements proposal and a high-level roadmap for the implementation of these
♦ High level infrastructure analysis and development of business cases
o Client: Rolls Royce EDS.
* Client was moving sites and needed to relocate one of their datacenters which housed legacy hardware that was end-of-life and had no support
* Using the EMC VMware resources we developed a high level business case to migrate the old hardware on to a new consolidated virtualized infrastructure
o Client: Atradius.
* The messaging environment was sitting on 4 different platforms; (Exchange 5.5, Lotus Note, Netscape POP3 mail, 3rd part hosted mail)
* The justification was to standardize the platform in order for Atradius to manage and support their messaging environment in an efficient manner
* With the team I supported the overnight mailbox migrations, and to keep up to date the migration register
* ITSM proposal was also recommended for the UK and global offices. This involved setting up interviews and workshops to understand the As-is support environment and recommending a best practice approach using ITIL V2
♦ Practice Development contributing to re-useable collateral for statements of works. Working with HR to develop a new starter induction pack
