Heading all functions of Supply Chain - Local / Foreign Procurement, Contracts / Services, Project Procurement and Warehouses.
Leading the Procurement and Contracting Team for delivering the $130M Capex and Opex budgets for entire Pakistan operations. Areas of responsibility include procurement and delivery of New Plants and Spares (45, 000+ line items) and ownership of all Service Contracts. Over 90% of spend is on foreign vendors, cost savings through optimal delivery methods is a key component in delivering the best priced option.
Full responsibility to handle all activities of the Purchasing Department covering both Local aand Foreign Purchases. Demand management for critical purchases including Raw Materials and Packaging Material sourcing and rationalization is also carried out.
The position had three major areas of responsibilities for all project contracts and procurements required for the $1bn EPC Fertilizer Expansion Project at Daharki. This assignment was a Senior Financial Analyst role reporting directly to the Project Manager for the Fertilizer Expansion Project.
Cost Controlling
Project Cost Controlling was carried out where monthly analysis and cost controlling was carried out. Receivables forecasting with Group Treasury to match contractual payables was also carried out. Project accounting was carried out and implementation of financial reporting systems was directly controlled and supervised a cost accountant. Additional assignments included Project Reappraisals and ROIs during Interim Review cycles.
Contracts Administration
Direct responsibility for contracts administrations included financial forecasting, costs monitoring and payables with full compliance to corporate policies and procedures. Extensive experience has been gained both within the Project Teams and support functions (Treasury, General Accounting, Legal & Audit). Invaluable experience has also been gained by being directly involved in negotiations of commercial terms/liabilities of contracts worth more than $350m.
Procurements management
The position had a dual role of incoming logistics control (33, 000+ tons) and materials management at site in excess of $650m. Complete documents management for customs clearances was carried out. Warehouse management at 2 Lay-down Areas and 2 Covered Warehouses at Construction Site was carried out. A total of 32 persons (6 engineers + 26 technical assistants) directly assisted me for the role of Procurements Management.
An additional project to control Projects Documentation comprising of 55, 000+ drawings and official correspondences was also carried out successfully.
As the Finance Manager for Sales Department, I had the primary responsibility in 100% receivables management due from National Distributor and Global Customers (Metro, Makro, Carrefoure, +500 modern retail outlets).

Other responsibilities included implementation of internal controls in branch offices, distribution centers and warehouses across Pakistan. A total of 3 persons directly reported under this position comprising of 1 Business graduate and 2 accountants.
Held position of Financial Analyst for Marketing Director for 3 months to optimize cost-to-import and brand profitability for Hair Care segment. Key projects successfully completed are:

As Assistant Manager Engineering, I worked at the $450M manufacturing facility at Port Qasim.. The following projects were successfully completed:

Savings of more than $4.5 million in the years 2002-04 owing to individual initiatives were achieved:
Carried out I&E modifications on Ingersoll-Rand and Volvo Compressors to extend service life - $1 million
Established Wireless Radio Maintenance Workshop - $ 0.5 million
Local vendor replacement for design development - $0.5 million
Foreign vendor replacement for calibration of pressure vessels - $1.2 million
Worked initially as a Trainee within the Engineering Department and completed a number of maintenance and procurement projects as per assignments from the Engineering Manager.
Worked as a Software Quality Assurance and Test Engineer at ITIM Associates. Responsibilities included development of testing plans and procedures to ensure that the software would fulfill business requirements and quality standards as defined by CMM Level 2. Worked on other projects such as CEMS (credit card transaction software), Resource Management System and databases for www.wisden.com
