• Manage quality assurance activities and deliverables in handover of all deployment plans.
• Provide technical enhancement opportunities to Customer regarding the production of planning documents as well as the QA/QC process.
• Provide training, support, and mentorship to Customer design team, OSP contractors and implementation resources in the technical OSP design requirements including, but not limited to, GPON topology, active and passive network components (OLT’s, FDT’s, Splitters).
• Resource assessment to identify Customer’s design staff knowledge gaps and provide trainings, workshops, supporting documents.
• Supervise the OSP contractors design quality and mentor the quality assurance of the OSP designs produced by all third parties.
• Assessment of 3rd party (Turnkey Contractors) design quality and provide Customer with recommendations of quality and productivity enhancement possibilities to ensure all OSP designs are fully optimized for CAPEX efficiency and deployment speed.
• Implement and manage approved process enhancements regarding OSP design.
• Carry out OSP designs (High level & Low level) based on the approved design guidelines and business needs and Provide OSP expertise to the project team, analyses current design guidelines and provide improvements if required.
• Assist the implementation team with task follow up and coordination of OSP design activities and Oversee any OSP design disputes with related third parties.
• Assist the project team and preparation of the contractor’s work packages.
Fiber network planning for civil/cable works and selection of its associated parameters by evaluating
network products and type approval, surveying and estimation of proposed area to design using
ArcGIS integrated with state-of-the-art tool Ericsson® Network Engineer in green/brown fields.
• OSP/ISP design following standard guidelines/practices/procedure codes and technical
specifications, materials list for civil works, fiber distribution & management (trenches, ducts
and sub-ducts, fibers distribution, manholes, handholes etc.)
• Ensure that FTTH network infrastructure is scalable and up to agreed Etisalat standards.
• Prepare plan and evaluate networks design parameters and network budgeting including Bill
of Material (BoM) for GPON-FTTH and optical fiber networks.
• Master-Plan preparation (Yearly) for Assigned Areas including route design drawings to cover
proposed area, its civil infrastructure and cable requirements, costing and budget proposals.
• Provision to enterprise customers for leased lines and IP/VPN, by preparing
quotation for rechargeable jobs & coordination with implementation team for execution.
• Preparation of engineering drawings and maintain as-built drawings for construction of new
or rearrangement of existing underground lines, cables, and conduits for OSP LD/JN network.
• Preparation of engineering drawing, as-built to maintain in Live-Link® (work authorization).
• Coordination with NOC Section in getting reservation of allotted corridor from Authorities.
• Review GPON-FTTH network weekly and monthly dashboards/KPI’s and reporting.
• Digitization of new areas in GIS as per the DM latest map updates for various exchange areas.
• Coordination with building Consultants and Contractors for their new and ongoing
projects, to extent/enhance Etisalat FTTH networks economically and safely.
• Participating in technical RFP preparation, technical clarifications, vendor discussions and
meetings.
Design-Lead (of remote team) 6-designer located (in Manila) on their design outputs,
conduct bi-weekly meetings to tap on targets set, present & get approval by client (QNBN).
• Fiber network design of high-level for fiber (Feeder) of various areas with approx. 100K
tenancies (2-3 Years Roll out Plan) as per QNBN guidelines using “Ericsson® NE”.
• Preparation of detail (low-level design) for residential/business customers Areas.
• Site survey for MDU/Business towers and production of ISP design package.
• Plan Long-haul/ring nodes to interconnect different private/government enterprise as
per SLA and prepare estimate to provide feasibility of economical project plan (BOQ).
• Prepared design layouts of equipment’s inside CO (19” Rack, ODF layout and jointing
cabinet with patching) also for inbuilding Plant duct/fiber connection schematics & patching.
• Prepared Inbuilding Design (IBC) for Residential/Commercial buildings by using Ericsson Air
Blown Solution (Micronet/Ribbonet) and produce BoM to present client (QNBN) for approval.
• Plan and dimensioning FTTH networks equipment’s such as OLT, ONT, FDH/FDP, Splitters etc.
• Quality checks and review of design work packages for civil and cable works/estimate.
Information Analyzes: Analyzing customer requirements sufficient to produce a
Requirement Specification for the network design.
• Fiber Network Planning: Production of Preliminary Network Design layout and Solution
Specification for customer approval, and hence a Preliminary Equipment List.
• Detailed Fiber Network Design: Detailed design of Fiber distribution, Fiber Aggregators,
and splitters to produce Design Overview Report, Schematics, and Network Design Layout.
• Site Selection: Site surveys in conjunction with Site Engineering and Civil Works teams
to produce site survey reports and an Approved Sites list.
• To do different changes/amendments for running design as per the requirement of the
newly accumulation of the tenants through proposal by the customer.
• Be part of meetings with Line Manager (weekly/monthly) regarding discussions for adds-on
and generating revenue among the company goals/targets.
• Coordinate with outsources (contractors) regarding 3rd Parties Products (3PP) and different
issues raised by consultants during the implementation of the projects.
