Construction of Lusail Plaza Tower Project, Lusail City, Qatar
The Project consisting of 2-70th storey twin towers and 2-50th storeys twin towers in Lusail City
and extends across an area of 38 square kilometres and includes four exclusive islands and
19 multi-purpose residential, mixed use, entertainment and commercial districts. It is a
comprehensive arena with leisure spots, residential buildings, commercial towers, avenues
and public Marinas.
The city of the future can accommodate 200, 000 residents and 170, 000 employees; it will
also welcome over 80, 000 visitors. The total estimated capacity of Lusail will eventually reach
450, 000 people. The city also includes numerous residential units, office buildings of various
sizes and 22 hotels with different international star ratings, making it an element of attraction
for investment in Qatar.
- Assist the Senior Engineer in Performing his duties.
- Assist in the review of Contractors Technical submissions to Senior
Engineer.
- Overview of the Contractor's Installation and construction Methods.
- Overview of the Contractor execution of the works.
- Overview of the testing during the construction period.
- Ensuring implementation of project-specific Quality requirements.
- Perform quality control and ensure that the works are carried out in
accordance with the Drawings and specification.
- Ensure inspection beings carried out as per ITPs.
- Inspection of material through material inspection report prior to usage
- Perform a verity of field and laboratory test to assure workmanship and
material meet required standards.
- Inspection of completed works through inspection report following
established ITP
- Monitoring of ongoing work and ensure it is carried out as per approved
MS
- Prepare detail written daily report on progress and detail inspection.
- Monitoring of works on site
- Measure work done when required
- Assist in the review of shop drawings
- Assist in the review and preparation of ‘As-Built’ drawings
- Keeps the immediate Senior Engineer fully and accurately informed
concerning work progress, including present and potential work
problems
- Raise and report nonconforming works to the Senior Engineer as per
related discipline
- Fill up Inspection monitoring log and ensure all proper keeping of reports
- Identified the SOR/NCRs report to Senior Engineer and Assist to the
QA/QC Manager to raise the NCRs.
- Preparation of Daily Site reports & Collection of daily progress photos.
- Maintaining safety standards during construction in compliance with
HSE plan
Development of AL WA'AB City Central District, Qatar
The AWC (AL WA’AB CITY) project comprised of Road/Site works, Architecture,
Geotechnical, Site Sub-station, Telecommunications, Electrical, and Mechanical works for
the following areas; 336, 800 sq.m. of residential, 12, 500 sq.m. retail program, 25, 700 sq.m.
5 star-hotel, 5, 870 sq.m. Office spaces.
- Providing all necessary assistance to the team with respect to all material
submittals, approvals, testing, sampling, etc.
- Participate in the quality control of materials including all the laboratory and field
testing, acceptance of materials, checking and accepting all remedial and
corrective measures. Supervise the works of the work inspectors for quality
assurance/quality control.
- Review and recommend for the approval by the Resident Engineer of all
submitted materials (Material Approval and Method Statement) by the
contractor.
- Ensure compliance of materials with the projects specifications
- Participate in construction quality control
- Supervise and participate for the direct sampling and testing of all
materials according to the contract and the specifications.
- Analyse the test results in a timely manner and recommends action to the
Resident Engineer.
- Maintain records of test results and all taken corrective actions.
- Track and review the site testing and certificate of compliance.
- Ensure very close and clear coordination of the team activities with the
other construction supervision staff.
- Follow up and verify implementation of corrective actions.
- Ensure inspection and checking of all delivered materials to site for
conformance to the project requirements and approval, as directed the
Resident Engineer.
- Sets up the type, number and frequency of tests required and defines the
acceptance criteria.
- Overviews that the required tests are performed in the set number and
frequency.
- Manages and reviews of selective on-site and off-site inspection
- Overviews the laboratory technicians for the operation of all sampling
and testing works.
- Overviews that the testing procedures are properly implemented.
- Overviews the test results and directs the necessary action in case of
failing tests.
- Identifies and compiles lists of defects.
- Overviews the Quality Plans submitted by the construction Contractor
and reviewed by the Designers.
- Overviews the implementation of the quality control procedures by the
construction Contractors.
- Participates in the preparation of the monthly progress reports.
- Reports on the various quality aspects in the project.
Development of Internal Security Force (ISF) Camp at Al Duhail, Qatar
The ISF Project comprised of Site Grading of main roadway corridors, Detection, location
and protection, and diversion of existing utilities as needed to maintain existing services or
provide interim services to existing buildings. All primary and secondary road works,
including parking areas; bus lay-byes, sidewalks, bike paths, traffic signage, pavement
markings, and main parade area. Proposed foul sewerage system including sewage
pumping stations and sewage treatment plant. Proposed storm water drainage system
including gravity collection system and retention structures. Proposed potable water system
including storage, pumping, metering, and distribution; and optional backup potable water
supply system; proposed irrigation system including storage, pumping and distribution.
Proposed fire water system including storage, pumping, and distribution. Proposed chilled
water reticulation system. Proposed power distribution system. Proposed communication
and security system containment. Proposed street, parking lot, and main parade area
lighting. Tie-in points to existing services which may be outside the boundary wall.
- Inspect engineering works of material used on site such as
formworks/shuttering and installation of steel reinforcement and during
concreting casting. Witness the testing and sampling of materials to be
used on site
- Inspect asphalt works including sampling and temperature control during
batching and laying process
- Inspect the excavation, backfilling, and laying of aggregates courses for
road works and structural foundations
- Inspect manhole and trench construction, Qtel Ducts, Street Lights Ducts.
TSE and Irrigation Ducts.
- Inspect material used in architectural works by the direction of the
Architect
- Observe works in progress to ensure that procedures are followed and
materials used conform to specifications.
Construction of Al Messila Resort and VIP Spa, Qatar
The Al Messila Project includes the 5 Star Hotel and VIP Wellness SPA. All floor levels and roof
including multi-purpose halls and swimming pools. Restaurant, Mosque, Kid's Club, and 30
Villas with Water Feature, Squash, Masjid, Gatehouses, Services etc. and 3 Substations.
Roads, Drainage System, External Landscaping works and Internal Car Parks.
Development of Barzan Camp Package 1, Phase 2 Construction, Completion and
Maintenance of Supreme Command Building, Group Command Building, and Barracks
Building.
The Barzan Camp Project includes the construction of Basement to 3rd levels and Roof level.
Open and indoor courtyards, Substations structures, External and Internal Landscaping
works including car parks at basement and ground.
Qatar Primary Routes, North Road Project (Ashghal-PWA)
The North Road Project major components; 9 dual carriageway bridges, 11 2-way single
lane carriageway bridges, Construction of stabilized earth retaining walls, Construction of
approximately 93 km of dual 4-lane highway (North Road), Construction of approximately
5 km of dual 3-lane highway (Simaisma Road), Construction of approximately 13.70 km of
dual 2-lane road (Crossing Roads), Construction of approximately 48 km of single carriage
way 2- lane roads, Demolition of the existing Northern Relief/Simaisma bridge, Connections
with the surrounding road network and services, Maintenance of traffic and detours,
Relocation, realignment and diversion of existing utilities, Telecommunication works, Street
lighting columns and high masts, Landscaping and Irrigation, Ducting for Intelligent
Transportation Systems, Traffic Signing and Traffic Marking, 4 Weigh Stations, 3 Rest areas, 5
Underpass Camel Crossing, Traffic safety installations and slope protection treatments,
Drainage works (Storm Water Drainage, TSE, Pump Stations),
- Supervise civil and structural activities concerned with application of
Construction Methods and maintenance of quality standards for
materials, and products:
- Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and
evaluation, utilizing knowledge in engineering fields.
- Performs inspections of streets, bridges, alleys, storm drains, water and
sewer mains, irrigation, and other public works projects;
- Inspects materials, grades, and other work for compliance with standard
and special specifications, details, plans, and standard construction
practices;
- Assists fellow Inspectors with more difficult inspections and with the
resolution of problems encountered in the field;
- Observes work in progress to ensure that procedures are followed and
materials used conform to specifications;
- Inspect and control the quality of materials use in accordance to QCS.
Handles material inspection request and report directly to the senior civil
engineer. Witness and approve sampling tests with the contractor and
Third party concerned.
- Reviews progress of projects being inspected for the Client and assists
them in coordinating work;
- Assist the material approval and evaluation for billing and construction
progress of the contractor, as directed by the Civil and QS senior.
- Conducts site inspections and authorizes release of inspection requests
- Completes daily, weekly and monthly progress reports.
- Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease
turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively
and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
- Ensures that proper safety and traffic control procedures are followed.
- Assist the Material Engineer for the reports of the daily activities in the
Client’s Central Laboratory Section (CLS) related to routine material
testing, laboratory quality assurance, site and plant QA, laboratory
equipment & maintenance, laboratory certification and accreditation.
- Assists the Material Engineer in materials testing at laboratory for the
Client.
- Review the daily work output of the various material testing sections
related to cementitious materials, Geotechnical Engineering. Bituminous
materials. General civil materials.
- Provide technical support to the various material engineers for each
discipline.
- Processing of technical submittals from the client for materials, method
statements from various utility agencies, method statements for non-
destructive road crossings, and any other technical issues which may
arise.
- Assign in development of QA plans for laboratory activities, construction
sites, and manufacturing plants.
- Review routine and periodic reports for material testing, quality audits, site
inspections, plant inspections, etc.
- Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and
instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability
data.
- Inspect and verified field and laboratory tests, such as Field Density Test
at Project Site, Sieve Analysis of Soils, Design Mix for concrete structures,
Structural Strength of Reinforcing Bar, Concrete Compressive Strength,
Bearing Strength and Analysis of the Physical Properties of Construction
Materials. Atterberg Limits and Soil Classification, and other related
quality tests.
