Being an expert in Business Insights, I was given an opportunity to lead the market share growth and the business growth of top customers by initiating various operational, strategic planning, business insights and recommendations by understanding Sell-In vs. Sell-Out across consumer and pharmacy (OTC) businesses focused primarily in UAE liaising with both, J&J and the distributor partner. Also by working cross functionally with various divisions internal and external - Senior Management, Commercial, Marketing, Finance, Business Insights, Supply Chain, Distributor, regulatory, agencies / third parties.
Market Insights | Research and Strategic Evaluation | Project Leadership
* Lead various primary and secondary research projects based on organizations objectives and budget with J&J’s business insights team and third party agencies like Nielsen, DataOrbis, Scanmar, IMS and conduct workshops to understand consumer behavior and the impact on market shares and the bottom line
* Sharing regular management and analytical reports on market shares, top customers, NPI’s, weighted distribution and coverage, competitive analysis, promotional effectiveness and efficiency by highlighting the gaps and suggesting focus areas
* Track new products since launch for 12 months vs. historical best launched SKU’s considering various quantitative elements Accordingly suggest to focus on the gaps and follow up on the same with the team
* To provide insights to action to J&J and distributor on continuous basis on fast moving SKU’s for the right store format to reduce promotional cost and increase base business
* Calculate the ROI and share the quantitative results to J&J’s brand and marketing teams on current activities vs. previous best practices for future forecast and market activity planning
* Work with the shopper team on various category management projects to increase the off take of focus categories and hence J&J brand
* Field visits to understand competitive market activities within top customers vs. J&J and present the findings in regular brand meetings to plan short term and long term actions to achieve brand and overall business goal
* Support the AMET or regional team for any large scale high level projects when global leaders are involved and which require great level of business acumen.
* Provide detailed annual business plan for various categories followed by the total country and top customers considering base, promo, distribution increase, NPI’s, marketing activities and estimated budgets
* Lead the discussion of business performance by presenting the current situation vs. expected and suggesting short term and long term strategies with actions
Change Management | Team Development
* As part of the core team, contribute as business owner for all tasks assigned on various change management business analytical projects to help the organization gain efficiency
* Inspire and mentor cross functional team members to develop greater data expertise
Financial Planning
* Participate in strategic business meetings with top customers and also support J&J to prepare high level presentations for joint business plan (JBP) with Carrefour and Lulu
* Compare J&J’s investments of current vs. previous year and recommend strategic plan and tactical approach for BDA to reduce investment for profit in the back margin
